Funny how none of the Bryce supporters are here analyzing this play

Bryce supporter here. He missed the read. It happens. To QBs of varying experience levels, not just rookies.  No one is sitting her saying Bryce has played incredibly well. We’re just saying that he’s flashed the skills that have made him the number 1 pick—movement within the pocket while keeping his eyes downfield, off platform throws, anticipation. His lack of production is a product of a poor environment—personnel, scheming, playcalling—in addition to him being a rookie learning on the job.

Look, I wanted Stroud. And I’m disappointed we didn’t take him. But Bryce is our QB and it’s simply too early to tell whether he’s going to pan out long term. And it’s unfair to negatively dock Bryce for not performing as well as Stroud when their situations are completely different.

Mahomes Wr's can't catch a cold but no one is giving him excuses. All qb's situations are different but Franchise changers elevate their teams play around them not need a silver spoon

Comparing a Rookie 3 games into his career with his coach and supporting cast to Mahomes cool story

Maybe I didn't get my point across clearly..Mahomes wr cast is a list of scrubs but somehow they keep winning. Not comparing the 2 qb's, setting a standard of elevating play from a qb

He has Andy fuging Reid calling plays and is an established qb in the same offense for 6 years. PM13 is arguably going to be a top-3 qb all-time. Bringing him up at all as a comparison just proves you’re arguing in bad faith or just a fuging idiot.

People couldnt wait to jump on stroud after a interception in his first pro game,  nobody is trying to here this. Bryce was DRAFTED off the fact he would yeild immediate results over everybody else now he needs a lof of time which apparently he doesn't have cuz coaches and execs are gonna start getting fired sooner than later so clearly expectations aint being met.

He just needs tyreek hill, aj brown, dk Metcalf. The line from the eagles and Andy Reid and then you will see what the draft hype was about

6-7 seconds is where Thielen was initially open. Either he couldn’t see it, didn’t trust his arm strength or was just shook. That’s NFL clean pocket and open receiver

The ball doesn’t teleport. 6 seconds he’s just getting his feet set again, Thielen is at the back of the end zone with no more space to work, and the underneath DB is drifting back into the passing lane to make a play on the ball. And he can’t lead Thielen with the ball away from the underneath DB because there’s another DB closing on that side. If you watch the play you see that but of course you won’t acknowledge it. That’s a 35 air yard throw you expect to get there before the DB can make up 5 in a direction he’s already moving. That’s a tight window. Sure he coulda chucked it and seen if Thielen would play the ball better than 2 DBs, but then you’d all be complaining about that too.

It’s clear he is trying to play pretty risk averse, and it’s perfectly reasonable if he saw the DB drifting towards Thielen and decided not to pull the trigger. He is looking that direction in the video. You can argue you want to see him take that risk. The problem is this thread is made on the premise that there was no risk, it was a clean pocket, etc. etc. which just isn’t true. I personally think the window is closed after he can’t step up and make the throw from the pocket. That is the clear moment that Thielen is about to come free and it looks to me that’s what Bryce wants to do. Unfortunately Moton was on ice skates. At one point both Moton’s feet left the ground. Our oline may be the worst in the league right now.

This is when the ball needed to be thrown. Bryce got rave reviews for his ability to throw with anticipation. So how does he not see this? When Theilen hit the defender with the double move he was going to be open

No doubt this ball should have been thrown.
