Trapasso: Young's first few starts are concerning

You can't unequivocally"make up your mind" on Bryce after 4 weeks. He doesn't have the body of work that Reich does that tells us this is just who our new head coach is. He is inept and a dinosaur.

But as for Bryce we cannot ignore the concerns that are rearing their head which were known when he was playing at Alabama. If these concerns do not dissipate to some degree as the season goes on the B word is inevitably going to enter the convo as much as some people who want to shout down any dissenting opinions want to deny it.

To be honest, the word is already coming up, and that's inevitable and unstoppable. But I haven't seen a single person deny that Young actually becoming a bust is an impossibility. I have seen people, including myself--including Trapasso say that three games is much to early to form an opinion, and if there is been any shouting down (which seems hyperbolic), it's been about that.

In short, it's just not translating. Being a great college player doesn't automatically translate to being a great NFL player. There's a long history of great college players not translating to the NFL. It's usually one of three things. 1. The player lacks the physical tools to replicate the same success at the NFL level. 2. The player lacks the mental tools to replicate the same success at the NFL level. 3. Off-field stuff.

The primary factor limiting Bryce's success so far couldn't possibly be more obvious and it's not because he's a dummy on or off the field.

Which, again, is what I said during the Draft process.

I haven't watched a whole lot of Caleb Williams, but from the plays I have seen from the highlights my "that won't work in the NFL" spider-sense tingles.

When? Are you sure that was me? I was always skeptical of the Reich hire and said so.

in the offseason, I thought it was you. it was in predictions/expectations threads I think. but I may be wrong and it could've been someone else.

I went back to some Alabama tape. I think we need weapons who can get themselves open underneath. BY loves to throw underneath. His best deep passes are down the middle. I think maybe one burner WR for go routes, but otherwise we need guys who can get open really quick inside and produce some YAC. Really miss Curtis Samuel, tbh.

You draft that at #1 overall though. And you certainly don't trade what we did to do so.

Believe me, I'm wishing we didn't trade away all those assets for #1 now. We might have been able to trade to get #3 (like Houston did) and keep DJ. But even thinking about it makes me sick.

That last interception was just awful. Can’t see the potential CB coming back in front and just plain not having the NFL zip to get it to your guy first.

The amount of picks we’ve given up to get to where we are at makes me sick as well. We gutted the team and we are the worst team in the NFL. SMH, the idiots in charge are way worse than we thought. I always hated the way we threw picks away and I don’t care that Fitt would have screwed rgen up anyway. He should have gone with Rhule just like many of us said.
