I don’t think Chark is much of a route runner to begin with. Basically a go or a deep over type guy and that’s about it. So far Mingo’s route running has been awful. Rookie or not he’s been playing WR for too long for him to be making the mistakes he’s made. Yeah TMJ stinks period

But yeah obviously I’ve had my concerns with Bryce but I thought he’s shown some good stuff the last 2 games. Against some pretty good defenses with Adam Thielen being his only “weapon”

I can agree route running is a big layer within our issues. Though it's looking like Mingo was probably the incorrect pick given our immediate need for WR. He has potential but looking at his college production he was always going to take at least a few seasons to develop. Yet another Fitterer misstep.

I'm going to go back and rewatch some throws from this game. There are definitely some bright spots. I just don't see any quick fix solutions even for next season unless we overpay a WR in free agency.

This was 2 years ago which is further away from relevant.....i have stated plenty of times on here if you watch his tape in 2021 and compare it to 2022 his throws were not the same. 2021 he was rifling all over the place off arm strength and didnt have to put so much of his body into his throws like he does now. Last year, his balls were sailing, under thrown, or just flat out inaccurate. Now Apparently a lot of that has carried over to the pros.

That’s a good point, I noticed that a little bit too. Maybe that shoulder injury last year was a bigger deal than it seemed? We know all too well what a shoulder injury can do to a quarterback.

Ever watched Chark’s release against press? Absolutely terrible. He will let a db put their hands all over him and reroute him. And if he is open that ball better be perfect. Not good for a go route specialist.

I think Bryce has started to realize Thielen is his only reliable option, and sadly that has been a good thing for our offense

I mean there was a reason we signed him for so cheap even with the injury history.  He is a solid deep threat, but you need a decent OL to really take advantage of that.

I think we make a strong run at Higgins if he becomes a FA. Higgins, AT, and year 2 Mingo is a good start. With Bryce’s size issues we have to get some better OG play as well.

Bryce hangs in there. Look when he starts his throw. He completes this ball to Thielen who you can see just about to come across the logo. Watch his feet too

Count the white jerseys at 5 seconds.  That's right, nobody deep. Why? The word is out and why you can count all 7 non-DL in that frame.  I think it's single high and he's not deep at all.

And what the hell is Moton doing all the way out there?

Blocking no one while our RG gets manhandled. I just don’t think this is the OL for their zone blocking they want to do. Just let our OL play to their strengths like Wilks did and adjust the schemes once you have the players to execute it. Reich and his crew seem pretty stubborn in making their scheme work no matter what roster/players they have.

    • Good, our ST is almost as bad as our ILB depth!
    • With two starters on expiring contracts (Moton + Corbett) as well as a few back-ups (Christensen, Mays, and Nijman), the Panthers are likely going to have to reinvest in the OL after this coming season. Icky's fifth-year option was picked up by the team this offseason while Lewis and Hunt both remain under contract then (though Lewis' deal is set-up in a way that would let Carolina move on from him then as well). I think that the team is going to be looking at investing a premium pick at RT should Bryce's development continue, and might even look to double dip at the position in order to have a swing tackle that can also kick inside when needed. There's also the question of starting center... Prospects I'm watching this upcoming college season... Centers Jake Slaughter (Florida) Iapani Laloulu (Oregon) Connor Lew (Auburn) Logan Jones (Iowa) Parker Brailsford (Alabama) Connor Tollison (Missouri) Bryce Foster (Kentucky) Pat Coogan Notre Dame) Raheem Anderson (Michigan) Carson Hinzman (Ohio State) RTs Francis Mauigoa (Miami) Kadyn Proctor (Alabama) Spencer Fano (Utah) Gennings Dunker (Iowa) Blake Miller (Clemson) Isaiah World (Oregon) Caleb Tiernan (Northwestern) Monroe Feeling (Georgia) Earnest Greene III (Georgia) Monroe Mills (Louisville) Charles Jagusah (Notre Dame) Tree Babalade (South Carolina) Trey Zuhn III (Texas A&M) Nolan Rucci (Penn State) Tristan Leigh (Clemson) Fernando Carmona (Arkansas) JC Davis (Illinois) Riley Mahlman (Wisconsin) PJ Williams (SMU) Tosh Baker (Notre Dame) Aki Ogunbiyi (Texas A&M) Courtland Ford (Kentucky) Ethan Onianwa (Rice)
    • I watched documentary on the 2010 Auburn season and Cam wasn’t included in that either. I think he just doesn’t care for these things
