It’s hard to compare the two really. Gary plays down in a 3 or 4 technique on a 3 man front a lot. He is also the anchor edge while Burns usually plays Buck.

If he keeps getting injured we have to move on. It sucks but he has to prove he can be available.

I'm curious with the recent studies about turf and soft tissue injuries if that's going to start affecting FA choices. Available players have more earning potential and grass favors less injury risk.

You're damn right he isn't our best player and whoever believes that is a fool. We even switched schemes and put him at OLB where he was supposed to be "even better" and its literally the same poo year after year with Burns. He's good enough to make his stats look pretty but when it comes down to actually impacting the game he's useless. $30 million a year for that? Hell no. Out of all the mistakes Fitterer has made so far this has been and will be undoubtedly the worst one once he finally gets that massive deal. And unfortunately this will have the most impact on our future as well. That's a lot of money to have tied up in a player that only shows up half of the time, if that.

At least 5 teams inquired about trading for Burns. Not sure what the compensation would have been.

28% fewer snaps than Burns and has 63% of the sack totals. Give Burns $25 mil/year and call it done or trade him.
