Do you watch CJ Stroud and wonder ‘what if’?

Yea, that was the season we played that horrible Cardinals team in the wild card cause Carson Palmer was hurt.

Their starting QB was... John Skelton maybe?  I don't remember.  The main thing I remember was Ted Ginn, who was then a Cardinal, getting laid out and fumbling on a kickoff return.  That was the turning point in the game.

So pretty much this whole thread basically confirms that this is a house divided and no matter what your opinion is of Bryce, you will not change the other party's mind so we might as well end the pettiness and the insults.

You can call me a Bryce "apologist" or "defender" if you want but still stand by my opinion that it way to early to call Bryce a bust. I knew going into this season that it will be rough and my expectations on here would be low because it's a new staff, new offense, and a new QB learning. I just know that I didn't expect it to be "one win" bad. I know some of that is on Bryce but I am a realist and I know it has a lot to do with this current staff and this scheme as well as the foundation around Bryce so to solely place all the blame on Bryce, to me, is asinine.

Agree or disagree, that is your choice but, I am playing the "wait and see" approach before jumping conclusions.

You can admit Stroud is a stud and playing better than Bryce.

You can also admit Bryce is in a far less preferential situation to Stroud. That doesn’t diminish what Stroud is doing.

You can also admit the book isn’t written on Bryce.

Look I get it, it’s sucks. It’s been several years since a playoff appearance and it’s hard to preach patience when another rookie is playing so great, but the dismissiveness of some of the Stroud fanbois around here is just silly.

Where?

It's not that young is a bust it's that Stroud is fuging light years better 9 games in.

All over this thread. Bryce Young is a bust and that’s that.

I'm not seeing it. Not a single post in here says Bryce is a bust.

Your own post:

That's exactly what I said that you were responding to.  But then you had to add on the CJ fan bashing stuff so it seems you want to really draw that line. Have at it.

I think the best term is Bryce Excuser.  There is always some kind of excuse for Bryce, even before the draft.

    • You're assuming just as well.   Morgan and Canales were hired 3 days apart.  I believe it was partially due to their connections in Seattle.  i believe Tepper wanted some familiarity with his GM and HC.  It is so easy to sit back and arm-chair QB over draft picks.  You don't know what the philosophy was going into the 2024 draft.  I believe Canales and Morgan were drafting for the future.  XL and Brooks point to that philosophy. Name me one GM that is 100% on draft picks.  Just one.  You're not going to find one.    I think year one picks weren't for what can you do for me now but Potential.   XL hasn't lived up to the hype of a 1st rounder.  I think we all can agree on that. However, there still is hope he comes around.  What I believe they saw in him was his speed after the catch.  He needs to get more consistent but when he gets the ball you kind of hold your breath just a second because if he gets free, he's gone.  The Brooks pick was a signing for the future, and no one could have guessed he would re-injure the same ACL.  This makes the pick look bad but Dallas was ready to draft him later that same round.  IMO we'll have to see what happens next season before we can call this a bust. Wallace has improved each season and for a third rounder has done well.  Sanders has shown flashes and considering the pick in the 4th round it wasn't a bad pick.  His sophomore season IMO was a little bit more productive.  Smith-Wade has been a good addition and has played well.  For a 5th round pick to get as much playing time as he has.  Most picks below round 3 should take a couple of years to get up to speed.  He's been a decent player.  Crumedy, no comment We turned Barrett into Jackson.  This was an amazing move and basically got a starting CB for a 7th round pick.  Pretty shrewd if you ask me. Coker, maybe the best Free Agent signing of the 2024 draft class. So, in short, you can't say that the draft was a bust.  It isn't a home run but all but one are still on the team and outside of Brooks have made contributions to wins.  2025 draft class has been much better with almost every pick making contributions this season.  Now take Fitterer's two years and compare them to Morgan and tell me that they have the same philosophy.
    • He hasn’t led crap, he’s on loaded teams and a piece of the puzzle. And he’s he has improved drastically but it took the ultimate QB whispers in Shanahan and KOC. You put him on this Panther team and he’s back to normal Darnold
    • Slavin and Jarvis week to week. Florida cheap shots took out our two best players.  I’d start KK so he can beat the brakes off someone.
