Tee Higgins is not helping this team win games.

Justin Jefferson is not helping this team win games.

We have a lot of holes to fill on this team no 1 single player is helping us win games. We need to start keeping our good players instead of trading them for picks that turn out to be nothing.

Brian Burns isn't helping this team win games either.

I hear you and agree in most cases. But a WR that can take the top of the defense and win contested passes can definitely change the way defenses play.

In FA you're probably right. What will likely happens is they franchise tag him and then trade him for value.

That's when he becomes more realistic.

If they let him become a FA then yeah no way he comes here. He can go to Houston a better market and a better QB to play with Stroud.

LOL

You literally just posted like 2 days ago that Higgins needed to be our top FA priority, I then quoted you and pointed out that he's not going to hit FA.

You're welcome

I dont get the Burns hate. Yes he's a 1 trick. But its a hell of a trick. If hes rated the number 1 free agent in the league top 5 pass rusher at his position who else on the Panthers roster is top 5 of anything????? Yes you could get a first or optimally 2 first for him, but 1 of those picks at the least has to go to replacing him because did you see us on Thursday...

Our pass rush without him was nonexistent.. it was awful.. 0 pressure or even hope for pressure.. Having him doesnt help bryce but Its a luxury of having an elite blitzer that you have to have...

When your offense can't put up more than 6 points against one of the worst defenses in the NFL, paying a 30m a year edge rusher that's a liability against the run is a luxury you really can't afford. We need to tear this team down and build it from the top. But that isn't going to happen. We're going to keep losing. Year after year, season after season, until the only fans left in the stands are all from opposing teams. Tepper is the worst thing to ever happen to this franchise and he will continue to destroy it and make it an even bigger laughing stock.

Pay Burns, don't pay him. It doesn't matter. If this team doesn't make some serious changes starting with the 2 cosplaying owners, I doubt they win 40 games in the next decade.

    • Miller being less raw and more pro ready makes sense of why they picked him. With us having a capable starter in Walker the lower floor higher ceiling player makes sense for us as well. I agree with that.
    • I'm from Michigan and have had this discussion with my Lions friends, and they all agree with me, they were never going to take Freeling over Miller.  As, yes, you are correct, they could have left Sewell at RT and taken Freeling, but they are in a SB contention window right now. An OL with Freeling at LT and Sewell at RT is not as strong as Sewell at LT and Miller at RT would be for this upcoming season and likely at least next year as well. 5 years it could be looked back upon as a long term "mistake" to take Miller over Freeling, but for a franchise like the Lions, you can't worry about the long term when you have current SB aspirations.  It's all about maximizing their current SB window over the next 1-3 years. And it's not about style, it's about day 1 readiness, and a lot of "experts" aren't even sure if Freeling is ready to play Week 1 yet at the position he's used to, let alone switching to a side he hasn't played before, but a career starting RT is going to be more than ready to fill that role for them Week 1. I'm 100% convinced that if our draft positioning was swapped, we'd have still taken Freeling, they'd have still taken Miller, and both teams would have got the OT that they preferred due to what each team needs right now and what their current realistic aspirations are for the 2026 season. We're in a position where we can let our drafted OT sit and learn for a bit, they needed a week 1 starter, for me that's where this discussion becomes very easy to understand why each team took the player they did.
