You could have done literally nothing after you fired Matt Rhule…and that version of the Panthers would be significantly better than the team you have today.  

Firing Matt Rhule was the right call.  And you saw that instantly.

Firing Frank will be the right call.   I suspect if you fired Frank and someone did some very basic and obvious fixes you would see a better team even this season.  .  

But you have a hiring problem.  You have a front office problem.  You are part of the problem.  You keep creating worse and worse messes.

There is no right way to pick the right GM or coach. 

Tepper stayed the course with Ron.  Yuck.

Tepper picked the flashy college coach.  Bust.

Tepper picked (and paid for) the coach and staff with the most NFL experience.  Bust.

We will either go hot young coordinator next and promote Evero to HC or get a NFL expert "consultant" to pick the next GM like we did with Ernie Accorsi and got Dave Gettlemen. 

We'll hit sooner or later just like every other NFL team.  I hope.

At least in 2010….we had legit super studs rostered up.  So if you fixed the QB issue there was hope. 

In an offensive league, we have depleted our team of weapons. So even if we fix the QB issue we are equipped to do anything.

Issue is we aren’t just missing on coaches and trying again.

while we are missing on coaches, we are also depleting this team of talent.  I can’t think of a time where the talent around the QB was this weak.   It’s an offensive league and they purged us of our talent and bragged about how some how Bryce Young doesn’t and wouldn’t need it.

      Yes, it tells me they’ve improved significantly from sitting at what, 30-31st in the league on the PP to 11th now.

      I wanted someone to hire him so we got the picks, but I'm also not upset that he'll now be back. I genuinely don't understand why so many fans on here dislike him so much.  No, he's not perfect and made some mistakes this year, especially at the end of the playoff game and going so soft in coverage on the final drive. But considering this place torched him all offseason for us having the "worst defense in NFL history" last year.  Said in the whole pre-draft process how we had to go defense in round 1 because of it and then complained the rest of the offseason that we didn't do enough to improve the defensive roster. How do people say all that about the defense and then complain when he turned that same unit into a pretty respectable defense this year.  They were really the only reason we were in a lot of games for most of the season, as the middle part of the season they really stepped up and were playing like one of the better defenses in the league. I don't see any reason we can't improve even more next year if we spend another offseason focusing on adding pieces on that side of the ball, which we should be able to do with our draft picks and cap space. We had the historically worst defense ever last year and people are upset because we weren't the 85 Bears this year, make it make sense.
