Bryce Young is historically bad, and he's regressing

First half of the season (1-5):
137/213 (64%), 1,202 passing yards (200 per game, 5.6 yards per attempt), 7 TDs, 4 picks, 4 fumbles

Second half of the season (0-6):
107/204 (52.5%), 990 passing yards (165 per game, 4.8 yards per attempt), 2 TDs, 5 picks, 4 fumbles

This is putrid. I don't think keeping Bryce on the field is going to help him develop at this point, there has been no improvement through 12 games

Far too much hype on this young fella.  Gross exaggeration and certainly not of his doing. This season is historically awful. As for offense it is as bad as any since the Panthers inaugural season.  The asterisk that will also be attached to Bryce will be the travesty of draft capital that was exchanged.  That albatross awaits the panthers off-season and NFL Draft. Tepper and Fitterer took the bait.  And there is no way a new coach can be commanded to live and die with Bryce. He and his staff will demand their own autonomy and rightfully so.

This is exactly what terrible OL play, bad scheme, and no receiver separation can do to a QB.

He already had "unconventional" footwork in the pocket; now he is much more sloppy and bails quickly.  He is constantly expecting pressure and his pocket awareness clock is out of skew.

He is forcing passes and not patient with developing plays.  He is checking behind his back on play action expecting to be hit.

He may have struggled even with things going well around him; it's impossible to tell.  But his environment has harmed his development tremendously.

They need to fix it this offseason with every $$$ and draft pick they have or he will be lost forever (and maybe he was always destined to fail?)

I honestly think our offensive issues are more due to Bryce's issues than Bryce's issues are due to our offensive issues.

Hopefully that reads right.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
