is Evero's heart gonna be in it though? I dunno/  If he just goes through the motions until his contract is up or fired might as well let him go now.

Considering his HC prospects and overall career prospects depend upon him being successful, this seems unlikely

Make him assistant head coach, give him a fat raise, and give the league an even bigger reason to want him as a HC.

Let him have complete control over the D and make it clear that it's his.

This is the best path forward for him if he doesn't get a HC gig this time around.

This is the way.  Evero is one of the few coaches lately that is without question a star.  Do everything you can to keep him

That makes sense, his best bet for having success is probably here, in year 2 with his defense rather than starting fresh somewhere else. Will hopefully have a healthier defense as well, so I guess from his point of view, if hes looking to be a HC he probably stands to have the best chance here if he has a good year 2.

Evero has only been a DC for two seasons.  One here and one at Denver.  It would be in his best interest to stay here and build upon his successes.  Honestly, imagine what he could do without such bad injury luck.  No way we are this unlucky in regard to injuries two seasons in a row.

If he keeps the defense consistent or shows improvement he will be a HC during the next cycle.

    • Great season regardless of what happens. From starting out 4-14 to ending 44-38 is incredible progress and future is bright from here. I do think we can beat the Heat and then win on the road against either Orlando or Philly assuming Embiid doesn’t miraculously return sooner. But if not, a higher draft pick is nice too
    • I know a DT that's asking for a trade: 🤔 maybe a home discount can be worked out. Dan Morgan could create up to $80 million in space through restructures of stars like Derrick Brown, Jaycee Horn, or Taylor Moton. They could also include players like Tershawn Wharton ($18.6M cap hit) in the trade to balance the salaries. Carolina Receives: DT  Dexter Lawrence II New York Receives: 2026 2nd Round Pick (No. 51 Overall): A premium Day 2 selection that fits the for  Lawrence  after his 0.5-sack season in 2025. WR  Xavier Legette : A young, high-upside receiver who provides the playmaking depth HC John Harbaugh needs for his offense. 2026 4th Round Pick: Immediate mid-round value. 2027 4th Round Pick (via MIN): Future capital acquired in the  Adam Thielen  trade.  ----- Stone Forsythe* (another young player as a potential trade option)provides immediate offensive line retooling for HC John Harbaugh.    John Harbaugh's history in Baltimore proves he values draft volume over individual superstars.    Just my 2cents
    • Moved to Tuesday, not Wednes because of scheduling with Flyers game or something in Philly. But I don't feel good about the Heat.  It has been a great season regardless.  Team just been playing so hard to move up since a bad start and just picked a bad time to get gassed.  It's like almost everyone is shooting cold at the same time even wide open shots.   Maybe atmosphere and playoffs kick off a spark.  I'd rather be in a series than a one and done though. The team has a good foundation to build on regardless of what happens.
