Tepper is putting in grass at BOA

These football teams don't even like playing on these terrible temporary turf pitches. They are slow, they cut up easily and they're hard. The only reason they do it is for the money that comes with touring the US in preseason.

What's going to happen at the 2026 world cup? Are all the stadiums going to install these temporary pitches? It's going to be a terrible spectacle if that's the case.

40 ticketed events. Turf facilitates that.

Not really. With the properly engineered system, you can have grass and still have the ability to have concerts, etc. It would just take someone with some inventive ideas on how to do it. I've already thought of how to and while it would require a significant investment, that cost would pale in comparison to losing your franchise QB for a season from growing turf injuries.

So.... what you are saying is that is it too cost prohibitive to bring in grass 9x a year, but you can do it once or twice per year for a soccer match.

Say that out loud Tepper and then back it up with numbers in the grand scheme of things.  One salary lost from a good player tearing up a knee or ankle would likely pay for an entire season.

game of thrones shame GIF

It's not so much cost prohibitive. Grass needs time root for the demands on football. Soccer doesn't have the grinding and torque on soil so it's not as difficult to play on less rooted turf.

Then contact Dave Tepper. 40 ticketed events with virtually all of them crammed into the NFL off-season is gonna put a LOT of wear and tear on a grass field.

yeah, other organizations pull off the multi-purpose gigs.....and still have grass for their football teams.

Real grass is easily possible. How do people look around at what’s been done all over the world and even how the stadium had it before and be like it’s just not possible anymore lol.

It will cost more. Millions a year more. But it is easily possible. It’s money. That’s the single, only reason to not choose it over turf as a whole.
