I can't believe it took 4 pages for his name to pop up lol. That being said no supporters brought him up but they'll be here to defend him shortly

Stop being a Homer, Horn can't even stay on the field and Surtain is an all pro.

Chuba is a jag.

BC is a league average OL.

Icky sucked at pass pro coming out and he hasn't developed at all.

Fitts drafts were piss poor at best.

I’m not a homer, I’m just not emotionally scarred by a bad season. I’ve seen them before. Doesn’t mean we don’t have good players. BC is average sure, but for where he was taken that’s a good pick. Chuba is an average starter, so ditto. Icky only sucked last year, there’s history revision going on but it’s an emotional response to last year. His first year he had some sucky moments but overall very good. Horn played most of year before last and about 1/3 of last year. Can’t predict injuries like that. When he’s on the field he’s a lockdown corner.  I’m not saying Fitts drafts weren’t piss poor but he did hit on some. Hurney was bad too but he also hit on some. If I had to compare the two I’d give Hurney the slight edge, but at least we don’t have to worry about this owner being stupid enough to rehire Fitts.

Bill Simmons said on his last podcast that our roster is the worst the NFL has seen in the past decade.   Tough to argue

I agree, for me it was the worse one in panthers history. *Still I feel just decent coaching on the offense will help tons. Tremble, hubbard, theilen, Johnson, and mingo are more "average" than dogshit with a decent staff I feel.

I think Christensen was a good pick but has been misused--I do not see him as a G; I see him as a swing T.  I think Chinn was probably misused.  Now that Ickey has an OL coach, I think he will get better--so part of this has to do with the coaching staff, but if they are not on the same page, then you tend to put round pegs in square holes.

Chinn was a Hurney era selection.

By the way,  I think it is very encouraging that Morgan addressed the OL and G position.  I think it is positive that he saw Bozeman as a liability.  While everyone was screaming about WRs and Edge rushers, he started building the interior of the OL.  What GM have we had that prioritized the OL?  Cam never had a great OL.  The best OL we have had that I remember?  The 2003 Super Bowl team.  For 20 years, the OL has been neglected.

The OL impacts the WRs, the RBs, the QB, the defense, and special teams.  I am actually excited to see what they will do in 2024.

I am worried about the ILB position and CB spots more than I am WR right now because I am confident we will add a WR in the draft and if necessary, can go with the two vets and Mingo if the rookie busts.  I would love to see a marquee TE.  If Bryce improves enough (I have no doubt that he will improve), ya never know.

What doesn't get addressed this offseason will be addressed the next. Patience Padawan.

To be fair I don't listen to anyone who says a draft pick sucks the moment they are taken.

But if you said that under Fitterer, your prediction success rate would have been insanely high.

We have too bad of a roster to get it all in one offseason. It will be 2-4 more offseasons of building at a high success rate to get to being a "good" roster.

So whether or not Bryce works out we won’t be good until after his rookie window has closed

Lmao on the slight edge to Hurney, the dude has drafted All Pros/HOFs/Pro bowlers, Fitt has drafted a bunch of Jags.

Huge edge to Hurney.

I still think those first two years fall on rhule, but his 1st year at the wheel was nothing short of terrible results for both draft and FA players.

20/20 and allll, but I think tepper should have hired a former GM instead of a rookie one.
