And we got worse when he decided to get more involved

Also doesn't help when you have to use 4 left guards and 3 right guards with a limited rookie qb. There was a lot more tangible problems before you can get to Tepper involvement

At the end of the day we have to concede one major point no matter how much we agree Reich and the outgoing staff were clearly not the answer. Having a starting QB who was clearly phsyically limited as a passer and not being allowed to bench him would have doomed many coaches current and former. That is why Canales has such an uphill battle ahead of him. It's that time of year where memories get hazy and hopium is abundant but the truth still has to be acknowledged.

I really think this is where the crux of everything lies. Frank and co had no clue what to draw up once Young was the pick. He’s been around long enough to know a coach killer when he sees one. He knew it was a ship destined to sink. He saw how the skill set of the line players didn’t match the scheme. Same thing with receivers. He saw how 0.0% of the Bryce hype was actually true.

He couldn’t wait to get fired, and used the weekly decapitation attempts on Bryce as leverage for Tepper to finally do so. Hell, he probably bought Ickey a G wagon as a show of appreciation.

I so much agree with the general idea here. That poo was written all over Reich’s face once the pads came on.

I was looking at it like the offense was drawn up with the assumption Bryce was going to be executing it, but once stuff got serious the player’s floor was just too low for it to work. And the panic button was pressed.

There was that very weird week with the Jets and the pads had come on ands the teams scrimmaged, and it just seemed like things were a black hole after that.

Two weeks into the season Reich wanted Young to sit. Tepper is like, no Frank this is all your fault, you better fix it yesterday.

Oh boy, yay. Go Panthers.

Yeah cancelling that 2nd Jets practice is looking a lot more interesting now. Or not interesting just sad. One thing for sure we don't need yet another season of coddling the qb in the preseason games like the previous Darnold and Bryce years. Still very looking forward to the decision on QB3, I know Canales said he wants a vet but any vet with valuable playing time or anything worthwhile to add to the meeting rooms are scooped up so I still think Morgan will say fug it and draft a guy or grab a udfa

Reich had no clue how to draw an offense up for a QB he wanted to draft?

this is a pretty terrible post

No one currently associated with the Panthers is going to suggest that the decision to draft Young was anything other than a totally unified decision. We've only heard from David Tepper and Scott Fitterer on that. Nothing from Reich. Nothing from McCown. Nothing from Brown.

It's all speculation until they begin speaking. Which will happen years from now probably.

Until then let's not act as if it's a settled matter. Because it isn't.

we’ve heard pretty definitively from outside sources with insider access that Frank Reich was a primary battery behind selecting young

your can stick your fingers in your ears and ignore that and peddle conspiracy theories on here but until the individual in question has legitimate counter sourcing then it’s just conspiracy whining to be ignored

You cite unnamed "outside sources" and then accuse others of peddling conspiracy theories simply for suggesting maybe we wait until the man himself speaks. Which he will.

Try taking your own advice bud.

It has came out plenty that Reich wanted Young too.
