Does Bryce have any further excuses for this upcoming year?

He has more tools now then Cam had

Not buying that.

Cam had Double Trouble, Smitty, Olsen, and Shockey.

We don't have players that match any of that.

But, yes, I do think Bryce has less room for excuses going into year 2.

Gross, Wharton, and Kalil.  Kalil was HUGE for Cam.

Not ready to say that yet.

He was ‘setup for success’ last year too, and we see how that went.

Was he? The guards we trotted out there were practice squad level. AT was the only WR trying. Chuba was the only RB with consistency. And... our offensive coach was playing an outdated offense. Hurst showed up for two games. Not saying Young is the answer but I'm giving him a mulligan.

Just for the record…

Last year, going into the season….Bryce had an all star coaching staff and folks here said we had a O roster that rivaled the 2003 Super Bowl team around him.

How could he complain when HE was the one that looked that bad?  HE needs to be the one proving to everyone he can play in this league.

    • It's not common for a RB to recover from two ACL tears in the same knee. It's fairly rare. You are correct that it isn't the career ender that it used to be but there is also the fact that we appear to have largely moved on with the additions of Dowdle and Etienne.  Dobbins is a very good example. He has basically missed 54% of his career regular season games since he came into the league in 2020. It will end up being 57% at the conclusion of this season. It's a big contributing factor to why he is on this third NFL team in 6 years. It's certainly possible that may be 4 by the beginning of next season. I would say there is very little chance that Brooks ever contributes in any meaningful way in Carolina. Possibly with another team but I am extremely skeptical of his future here because of those injuries and because of the roster.
    • Dude he didnt play in pre season.....  he didnt practice at all with the team until the end of October.    I do agree though.
    • Bryce had a hand in the Miami win but not nearly as large of one as Rico and he also had the extra burden of being a big reason we were in the hole in the first place. If we get a winning season he is definitely back for next year though.
