    • Owner removes himself from the day-to-day business. (No crazy reports or ideas).
      7
    • Bryce Young shows significant improvement. (Mimics Stroud's rookie season numbers).
      29
    • The Panthers finish Top 16 in total offense. (For the first time in a long time).
      9
    • Offensive Line stays healthy entire season. (ex. 2022)
      2
    • Panthers switch back to grass at some point prior to the season.
      2
    • Jaycee Horn stays healthy for the duration of the season.
      1
    • Panthers get first 1000 yard rusher in half a decade.
      1
    • Panthers get rid of the White on Black uniform combo.

If Bryce mimics Stroud’s rookie numbers we have our HC and QB set. Two huge hurdles IMO. Our offense would probably be a top 10 as well with that kind of season and any hint of a running game.

Baker Mayfield largely had CJ Stroud #'s last year.

and it resulted in the 23rd ranked O and worst run game in the NFL

if we have the 16th ranked O....I think it is more of a guarantee the O and Canales is overall on the right track to be successful.

I went top 16 O

I feel that would potentially check multiple boxes

Same. Bryce just needs to get better and he needs to manage this offense effectively do that it can be top half of the league. I don't care about what his stats look like, tbh. More TDs than INTs (I'd honestly be thrilled with a 2:1 ratio), less sacks, low fumbles.

Fair point. We could have the 16th ranked offense with Bryce playing well. What if he is injured in that scenario. I’d still rather have an answer at QB and HC.

1. Week to week improvement on offense and play calling. One more screen on 3rd down I might actually die.

2. Better Oline play (can't be much worse).

3. Consistent decent to good play from

  • Bryce Young
  • The rookies
  • Either Mingo, Tremble , or Terrance Marshall Jr. (any one of them).

well, I was assuming in this scenario Bryce was healthy.  I mean, yeah, I wouldn't pick the top 16 O and it was Dalton that drove the bus.  QB is the most important.

Tough to get to get to a top 16 O without Bryce playing pretty well in year 2.   I mean, unless our run game just is top of the league and can get us there with no pass game to back off a D.

    • Coker has certainly earned it. Good for him.
    • I don't think we don't call things aggressively, for a Canales offense, anyway. We don't have a QB who makes aggressive throws nor stresses defenses downfield. He is at a career low on 20+ attempts per game and his career 10-20 QB rating is abysmal.  That will always be a limiting factor IF you are looking for a high flying, downfield offense. I am not even that concerned about it, I just want to see effective offense and we decidedly do not possess that. A large chunk of that is Bryce. I think the second biggest chunk is Canales. All the other components(XL included) are fairly minor in comparison to those two things. I am an advocate of attempting to improve at QB. I am not focused on finding "The QB." We failed at that with Bryce. So let's just get better. If that's a one year vet or a draftee or a cheap trade or some combination of any/all, we should do that. We have to get that QB better. Bryce will fail in 2026 and we need to have REALISTIC options to take over when that happens. That ain't Andy Dalton or Hendon Hooker or Jack Plummer or Mike White or....you get the picture. Be serious about hedging that Bryce bet and not just having to make do if he struggles or gets injured.  My mind is definitely made up on Canales. It's year two and he hasn't improved much, nor do I think the bones of a good HC are there. Ron Rivera got to that point after two seasons and he was open about the changes he had to make and advice he got to make that leap in year 3. If we don't see the same after next year, how is he not just Brian Daboll?
    • Not really buying it because T-mac faces stiffer competition week in and week out.
