No, Rhule was a CEO type and a complete dickhead. There was an article after we hired him and in it, it talked about how he would bitch at his coaches and threatened to fire them mid-game for poor performances.

His rah rah had no substance and he tried to lord over grown men like they were college kids. No idea if Canales is the guy, but his answers in his pressers sure have more substance and reason rather than soundbites and catchphrases.

eh, I'd argue he is now described as a CEO/dickhead type because his Ted Lasso bologna blewup in his face so hard at this level.   He was pimped as Dabo lite. 

Rhule had all the cheesy slogans.  He had all the cheesy motivational.  Rhule out there threatening to pop his own hamstrings doing tackling drills with the team.  That poo don't work at this level.  Once that came to be....he was just the muttering idiot who didn't get the NFL.

I believe Lasso is loosely based on one of the Harbaughs.  Pete Carroll was a positive/energetic coach.  I'm sure there are others that lean more lasso like. 

 

It's not a typical style but there is some success at the NFL level.

This thing is not going to improve soon. The past five years have been brutal for this franchise. The amount of draft pick giveaways and free agent errors and trading our best players away have led to a poor roster . Nobody knows if Morgan and Canales can turn this ship around but one thing I do know that if Tepper continues to meddle and Influences football decisions this team will continue to be the worst in the league.

This team is mostly made up of other team’s rejects.

Derek Brown is our only blue chip player.

You can’t win with a roster like that.

Years of bad drafting and bad trades have caught up.

      Yes, but those guys aren't depth guard signings, they're likely going to wait and see who has injuries or players under performing and then sign there. I also think that if Ickey really is going to be able to play at some point this year, that's where our guard depth comes from.  As if he gets to the point of being active, we'd then have 3 LT's on the roster with him, Freeling, and Walker, gotta think one of them not named Freeling gets kicked inside if needed.

      I don't think Tyreek is a bad player to play with on the field, for sure not in the same way that Diggs is, as he's a cancer on the field with how he acts, and wouldn't take kindly to being 2nd fiddle behind T-Mac. It's that Tyreek is just a terrible person who realistically shouldn't even be in the NFL, his insane athletic ability is why his off field transgressions have been overlooked.  If he was a WR3, no team would have kept him around, it was only that he was a 1st ballot HOF level talent that kept him around. Just zero interest in having a person like that around our young WRs, that's really all it comes down to for me with him. Again, if we were true contenders this year, that changes things and I'd rather bring in the best possible players and hope it works out.  But they're trying to build something here and to do that, you need high quality people, not just great talent.
