The Rob Lowe team, I like it.

I have been to a number of these cities that have lost teams. The overwhelmingly majority don't follow those teams anymore, they hate their fuging guts.

The sentiment is completely understandable. That has literally happened to Charlotte already.

would think that I just basically become a casual NFL fan.

That's what I became after selling my PSLs year ago. Almost 10 years as a casual fan, watching 1 or maybe parts of 2 games a week with no allegiance to anyone. Far less stressful, less emotional investment and the ability to see the reality of the league as an entertainment business and nothing more.

Yeah, but the Panthers haven't left..... yet...

I don’t think they will. It's a lot of bluster and not much substance. Plus it sounds like this wealthy idiot is going to get his way, unfortunately.

I still watch the games but it's mainly just fodder for bitching and discussion with my buddies. I don't actually care that much anymore. It's just fun to sometimes put on that angry fan hat in a discussion.

It's interesting how these threads go. There is not a single word from the team or tepper about moving the team.  It's just an assumption by the author, and yet Tepper is getting blasted for something he actually hasn't said.

Unless something more concrete comes out, this isjust the authors opinion with no basis in fact.

Actually this was going on when JR was still around. I remember years ago when Kerry Collins was benched by Capers some huddlers were predicting relocation. This team isn't going anywhere.

I'm sure the same was said when the Rams left LA. Only took 20 years to get them back.

You are right. At the same time, if I had twenty years to live, and had to do it without the Carolina Teppers? As they have been in the first 6, I could go way longer.

Honestly, he has really given people very little to root for. if you are a certain mindset you loved the trade up. But when that was culminated, you hated it. Most of you.

If you were of a different mindset, you wanted nothing to do with that kind of strategery.

I think some of y'all would be thrilled if the Panthers ceased to exist as a team...

The Panthers aren't going to move.  The City won't let that happen.  It's too much of a shiny bauble for Charlotte to let go of for nothing.

I think the city would let the leave before they get completely bent over. Reference the New Orleans Pelicans(AKA Charlotte Hornets 1.0) and George Shinn.

    • Ha-ha, I bet that went through everyone's mind.  Admittedly I don't read all the comments in a thread before I make a post. Great minds think alike!
    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
    • I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
