Giants thought they would have to give up more in trade for Brian Burns

He has better edge help on the other side now, so he'll probably average 12 sacks or so and people will get all excited. Not realizing they were all from 7 or 8 games and he was targetted against the run the whole time. Those sacks will be fluff numbers in NY and everyone will say how bad of a trade it was.

I suspect he will have more than one sub-double digit sack season during the term of that deal.

Nothing burger of a story. The market dictated Burns’ value.

well, we can still be lead by bad negotiators and managers of our assets.

I think the Giants sort of confirmed that.  They got a deal they probably didn't expect.  Which is largely the thought on CMC and DJ as well.  Mr. In on Every Deal wasn't really that good at going about it.

sounds like we just accepted their initial offer or perhaps Morgan asked for a 5th instead of a 2nd

He was in on every deal.  He just lost every time.  It didn't say win every deal.

Except the Matt Rhule shrug GIF. Gone but not forgotten….

Got to keep the faith.  One day some youngster here will answer those prayers when the time is right with an epic post featuring the Matt Rhule shrug gif.

Your star DE is supposed to ice away at least 1 game a season. It’s their purpose and what they do. They murder the opposing team’s comeback drive. Bosa. Garrett.

1st and 10 turns in to 2nd and 10. 2nd and 10 turns in to 3rd and 13 off of a failed screen that he blew the f up. 3rd and 13 gets the bull rush, pro bowl LT on his arse, apologizing to his QB and team. wrap. Yes, there aren’t many in the league, but if you want to be paid like one, you better play like one.

I actually miss Ginn. All effort. All about the team. Knew his role, and was a guy you had to game plan for. If he was having a good hands day, it was beautiful. Every play, it would be, look for Ted, he’s probably open.

Donald did this in the super bowl too...

Burns was more of a get a sack in the first quarter and take the rest of the day off kind of guy.

Yep. Whether you would or would not have traded him the first time, It was 1.5 years after they turned down the cheese. Now he needs a fat new deal, it is a totally different equation.

I know he can wreck some plays but he is not a take over guy and I don’t think that is worthy of that level deal. And he’ll kill it with the endorsements in NYC so he probably not unhappy.

    • Nobody on the huddle is saying we have an elite group offensively across the board. They aren't great. They're young. If you are expecting someone to agree with your position of blaming everyone around Bryce Young nearly three full seasons into his career you are going to be left holding the bag save for a handful of people who act like they are paid to defend his honor. Bryce Young is not a guy who has had to claw and fight his way into starting jobs in football. He's had the best to work with and been gifted roles since he was a teenager. The Panthers have one of the youngest rosters in the league and with us needing an infusion of young defensive talent in the upcoming draft we're only going to get younger. We need a QB who possesses the ability to elevate those around him. If you can't agree with me on that then there's nothing further to discuss.
    • All Bryce and the Panthers had to do was split with the Saints and a rookie QB. The bar was so low. They even had a whole bye week to prepare. The time for singing kumbaya was before that game. Anyone still talking about Bryce earning a second contract 43 games into his career is living a fantasy. He might get one from the Tepper owned Panthers but he's damn sure not earned it.
