Anyone else shamelessly 'pro tank'? (Lay on the floor for Sheduer)

The player to tank for was Caleb Williams. Which we did, sorta.

Crazy how many years it would have benefited us to pick No. 1 in the draft and we won some random games.  Then the one year we finally earn it again, we don't even have the pick.  It really can't get much worse than that.

I would say they are cursed, but it really comes down to stupidity

you all know that the #1 ranked QB in the nation (who happens to be Beck, not Sanders) can change a lot.  Some underdog will surface (like Burrow, Nix) and some sure fire #1 overall will drop (Howell, Rattler, e.g.)---About Sanders--can you imagine dealing with his father and him during contract negotiations?  Yikes.  I like UGA's Beck, and there are about two or three sleepers who could step up this year.  Ewers, for example. My dark horses?  Donovan Smith, Houston, Will Howard, Ohio State, and my favorite--Jalon Daniels, Kansas (needs to stay healthy).  However, any of these QBs could emerge as a top 10 draft pick:    Dart (Ole Miss), Milroe (Bama) or Gabriel (Oregon).  So many names we just do not know that well due to the transfer portal, but there is some strong potential.

I still hope Bryce becomes the guy.  Now or never.

As bad a pick and player/draft capital management as occurred to get Bryce Young.  I do not want Sanders on our Panthers.  Riley Leonard may be the next big QB in the draft to really position for.  There are certainly others as well.

    • Basically agree.  He is the one of that bunch that offers upgraded pass catching along with he is supposed to be kind of special.   Then you have the OL and the ideas that if they perform you can have JAG backs and still do well. So okay we could be fine.  But Brooks is important and to me that receiving element sets him apart.  So there sure is something riding on him.     What strikes me as incongruent is people over in Atlanta or those that follow them look at Penix with a third surgery and act like it is no big deal.      And we are on pins and needles over Brooks.  Either they should worry a lot more or we should worry a lot less.
    • I usually go a game or two optimist over the consensus here but this is too early for me to say. I need to see some players on the field.  I am not feeling real optimistic though.
    • Okay as a ‘take CJ’ fan I actually don’t obsess over CJ and Houston, contrary to the narrative.  But I thought I picked up some noise that his OL left a lot to be desired.    Not a single Beyce supporter would judge him harshly if he had a crappy OL. We all know that.    So be fair about it.  A QB needs to be protected.  Especially a guy that gets to his spot and wants to finish the play from there. Which CJ is.
