Red headed step child?

Gamecock fans when they have won 2 of the last 10 by a grand total of 4 points in a series dominated by Clemson

What have you done for me lately is the name of the game and is the entire basis of the lobbying for the playoff. Bama, Clemson, Ole Miss and SMU all fell off a cliff to end the season.

Someone else went undefeated on the back half beating 4 ranked teams along the way.

How you play down the stretch has to matter and I actually picked Clemson to beat Texas. I still think Texas isn't that good. Clemson just didn't show up.

Clemson sure does own a lot of real estate out there

I mean it’s sort of weird that the official SEC account is thinking so hard…about them 12 seeded Clemson Tigers

I guess they didn’t like Cade Klubnik maybe exposing yet again that often these SEC and also BIG10 defenses are often just sort of conference creations at the end? I do think the college playoffs have often shown that many times.

Clemson might of lost but over the last decade they sort of have made a habit of proving the SEC Ds are built different narrative is sort of a conference creation.  Hell they went into a game with tiny Hunter Renfrow out wide at #1 because of injury and cooked the Bama D once.   Cooked the hyped greatest Bama team of all time allegedly with a freshman WR/Freshman QB year.m another year.  With no threat of rushing the ball, Texas should have held Clemson to virtually no offense yesterday.  Guess they salty about that trend or something

SEC fans:  We built different! We should have had all the teams in for the college football playoff!

Reality:  Biggest embarrassment first round of the CFP? SEC team.

other bowl games? SEC losses to AAC conference team.

You're assuming those SEC teams are taking bowl games seriously. Hell aren't most of those SEC teams have opt out because of the draft?

Kind of hard to take these bowl games seriously not many people paying attention to a meaningless bowl game. Everything is about the playoffs. Even the playoffs have been non competitive. Are you blaming the ACC teams for not showing up?

It goes both ways. Making fun of the SEC is the last thing I would be doing. Top to bottom they are still the best conference.

Random takeaways:

McCord is solid. He’s not some sure fire 1st but if Derek Carr and Kirk Cousins can carve out careers, I think he could too.

Not on the stat sheet tonight, but Pena is really good for Cuse.

This Arkansas kid Taylen Green is someone to watch the next few years if he develops well.

Green is a junior and like you I'm going to keep an eye on him. He looks to have nfl potential if he has it between the ears and has the drive to be great.

    • I mean, if Moore really wants out, then it would behoove the Bears to make it happen sooner than later. X is a lot younger and cheaper, and may be a better fit for Johnson's musings than a disgruntled, unnecessary, overpaid vet. If they can dump his salary and maybe get a fourth or so in return, it may be worth it to them. As for development, I'm not concerned. You're talking about a seeming bust, a day three guy and a UDFA. They are developing relative to their ceilings. I doubt any of them will ever command the coverage, money, or the respect that Moore has acquired. He's a tier above them. Yes, even X.
    • IMO, if Ceedee plays against us, the game probably goes the other way. Same with Tyreek Hill and the Dolphins. Our team just isn't designed to beat teams with two high level receivers like that. But when you look at the league, how many teams really have two guys of that caliber?  There's nothing wrong with defensive adjustments, but sometimes I think a lot of fans want Evero to call a different play like a game on madden, and defensive football just isn't like that. That said, I thought we did a much better job this season against the Cowboys of flipping Jaycee and at least making them work for it, opposed to last season when they literally just lined CeeDee up on the other side of the field every single snap.  For us to just straight up switch to consistent man coverage, or a different zone, or whatever, we likely would consistently need different personnel on the field. Doing it a few times a game is a gamble and can work, but if we consistently run man coverage against the Cowboys, eventually a RB is going to beat a linebacker, or something of that nature with our personnel. Part of the reason Evero likes this scheme is that, while we have our defaults and presets, what we do is very multiple, and you can do a lot of different things pre and post snap. We are a challenging defense to read. But as you said, if guys are getting beat, it doesn't really matter what you call.
