He needs more time. Look at this- he claimed 6 players at cut day(only three remain), that tells you hes not happy with the roster.

His FA class is playing well enough - hunt, lewis, and robinson with some misses

Hes made around 4 trades-

id take the 2nd 5th carolina package over paying BB

barrent for a starting well playing #2 CB mike jackson

rams 2025 2nd and 2024 2nd for panthers later 2nd pick.

Djohnson and 7th for djack and 6th

I'd say all of those favor the panthers currently.

Draft class is too young to judge, even if I said he didnt land a starter on the weakest roster.

This team plain sucks, there is no strength besides one player in dbrown. You cannot suddenly fix that in just one off-season. Until the cobrett injury he had fixed the OL. He tried to add weapons in brooks, sanders, johnson, and XL. He added players that fix everos D. He sure did try if you go by one off-season. Results, sure any team that traded prime picks and top 20 WR for BY will still suck.

Even if he hits on many decisions it will take nearly 3 full seasons to get to average team levels.

Needing talent and not drafting for guys who are not projects is an issue. It's been an issue and remains an issue. Wallace looked promising yesterday in a big role but the rest is not what the team desperately needed so far.

Johnson and Jackson were positives for sure. Splurging on OGs with Corbett at C with a now also injured URFA and BC behind him are a negatives IMO. Now I think damn near the entire oline is injured in some way? Sanders stinks and he was one of his guys last year. The XL trade was a negative and there were just flat out better guys available. Robinson was also just the lowest graded guy on D, with Sly playing well inside. The only hope lies in the guys who started the year injured that are coming back.

I get it was a huge task to turn around what's been going on here and what he was handed before last year when he was AGM but it's not all rosy. I wasn't a fan of his promotion but I hoped he would prove me wrong. There are plenty of red flags even if he has had some green ones too.

Michael Lombardi on his GM Podcast said Morgan got the job because Nicole Tepper likes him and vouched for him

If Nicole Tepper gets her way, the Panthers will be the worst billionaires social club in the league. No sign of football championship, but great dinner conversation at every fundraising table for the next city project the Teppers will can.

I looked at the 1st through 3rd round WR's. There were 16 taken overall, three have missed all games due to injury. Of the remaining 13, XL is ranked 10th in PFF ratings of the group(90th in the NFL overall). He is the second lowest rated(non-injured) 1st round WR behind Rome Odunze(95th rated in the NFL overall). Five receivers taken in the 2nd or 3rd round are higher rated PFF players.

So he is basically playing like a 3rd round pick.

Did those other qbs have two games with Bryce?

panthers have had two games with not just competent qb play but with an nfl caliber scheme. Like come the fug on.

You are aware that his averages with Bryce and Dalton are basically the same, right?

Bryce: 4 Rec, 35 ypg, 0 TD

Dalton: 3 Rec, 38.7 ypg, 0.33 TD

You threw out game 2 with Bryce where he had 0 catches for 0 yards, so it should be 2 catches for 17.5 in that column. And he didn't play the entire 2nd half of the Bears game due to injury so that's a little distorted too.

I looked back at that, I thought he was out with injury for that 2nd game.

Either way, it's basically no impact and almost no impact with either QB.

We have literally watched him drop numerous passes with Dalton. It's not Bryce Young dropping those, it's Legette.

I'm generally in favor of giving more time, but I will say up front that one of the criteria I'll have for judging him will be whether or not he makes some changes to the staff and executive structure because I do believe some are needed.

Of course, he has to have the power to do that and under Tepper, uou can never take these things for granted.

I think he will get at least two more full offseasons. If we are still drafting in the top 10(which seems almost assured), I think he gets canned too.

We will never know the full story of the dynamics of this whole pile of poo, but I do think we will very much struggle to get quality candidates for that GM role after Morgan is gone.

We might struggle to get quality anything as long as David Tepper remains in charge.

    • Went to school in MD when this came out. Dance floor got CRAZY when this joint came on!
    • They had best show out in Week 1 there are zero,I mean zero,  excuses for that offense  defense, haven’t play together yet and they still have Mr Soft and Predictable as DC  I expect break downs at times  …but that offense returns all starters except Tremble and both Mayes and Brady are veterans and can play LG and know the system not up for any participation awards this season they can save that practice energy for Jacksonville.     I’m sick of the, winning,  or looking competitive, when it doesn’t matter.
    • There are some tough decisions that I'm eager to see the results of... Does Blackshear sneak on to the roster as RB4? Does the team go with 4 TEs or just 3 again? And has Mitchell Evans done enough to defend his roster spot from James Mitchell? Who is WR6 and is there a WR7? TMac, XL, Coker, and AT seem to be locks imo and I'm assuming Renfrow also makes it due to all of the camp praise. Who makes it between Brycen Tremayne, Jimmy Horn Jr, and David Moore? If the team goes with 7 WRs, which one of those three doesn't make it? Jacolby George and Emani Bailey both have not gotten a lot of game time. Could the Panthers be trying to hide them so that they can be stashed on the PS? Do they go with 10 OL instead of 9? Who makes it out of Walton, Carter, and Kingston? DL locks are DB, BB3, ARob, and Turk. That leaves Jaden Crumedy, Cam Jackson, Sam Roberts, Shy Tuttle, and LaBryan Ray all competing for the final 1 - 3 spots. Does DJ Johnson get IR'd and Thomas Incoom make the roster as EDGE5? What in the fuuuuuuuuuuuuck is going to happen at LB? Only locks seem to be Wallace, Rozeboom, and Cherelus (Wallace has mentioned in media how Cherelus has been big bro for him on the team). Rhattigan had some good moments against Houston, Martin-Scott is an SC guy, Krys Barnes has popped on defense and on special teams, and Windmon got time starting for the team last season. Are two of those guys going to make it or are the Panthers poaching from another team's cuts? CB5... who is it? Do they go with the 4 expected safeties or bring in a 5th? Has Ransom done enough to take the start from Nick Scott?
