2025 Mock Drafts

Trade back is the only option, if we can find a trading partner.  I love the Raiders.  They are as desperate for a QB as we were in 2023. We can be the Bears in this scenario and they can be the suckers--Panthers.  I played around in a mock (not posting it) but we can rebuild this defense and get a couple more weapons for the offense with a trade down at the top of the board.

My favorite in yet

traded down to get an additional 2 this year.  And a 1st next year

Edge Rusher

Stud athletic safety

Big monster TE to run 2 TE sets with him and Sanders

a solid CB2 candidate

A Chubba replacement at RB

a deep threat WR

Don't we still need a qb, though?

Good luck with that we are slowly falling out of range for Tmac and Hunter.

This draft went from being exciting to damn we really about to screw ourselves out of 2 game changing prospects. All for some meaningless wins at the end of the season smh.

Look at our schedule, Cowboys are probably our only winnable game left unless we can beat the Bucs, but Evans will be back by then too.

If we only win 1 more game (or none) we’ll still probably end up picking around 4-6 in the end, if a couple QB’s go in the first few picks, will come down to team needs, but I’m hoping we can still get my guy T-Mac

Now look at the teams ahead of us in the draft.

Jacksonville/New England/Cleveland/New Orleans would almost certainly be in the market for a WR.

No chance Tmac is on the board as it stands today. Maybe if we get back in the top 5. You said yourself Tmac is the best prospect in the draft. So how would he be available at #10?

Example #1,294 of you not actually reading my posts before you respond to them.

Me:  "I think we're going to win 1 more game at most, end up in the 4-6 pick range, and hope a couple QB's go and then will come down to team needs if T-Mac falls to us"

You:  "Maybe if we get back in the top 10, you say he's the best prospect in the draft, so how would he be available at #10"

MY DUDE.... I literally just said I think we're getting back in the Top 5 range and then said how I'd hope we still land him, so what's the point of saying "how it stands today" as I obviously know that.

In regards to the specific teams you called out...

New Orleans has Olave and Shaheed who was looking really good before getting hurt, and they will want to move on from Carr.  Given their cap issues moving forward, they aren't investing a high first round pick in WR given those two they already have, I think they'd be a QB draft pick team, and that's if they're before us, they have a bunch of winnable games left.

Cleveland could use a WR after trading Cooper of course, but I think they want to move on from the Watson saga so badly that if they can draft one of the QB's, they would as well.

Jacksonville could concern me a little because they could want to give Lawrence another elite weapon, but they also have OL issues I believe and could see them going that route to protect him instead.  They also end with 5 straight very winnable games, so not sure they're going to be picking ahead of us anyways.

New England is the team in your list that would scare me the most, as they badly need a true #1 WR for Maye, and they have a rough schedule ahed of them.  I'd just have to hope they go the Hunter route, which given their HC being a former defensive player, I could very well see them go that way.  Would be fitting though if he ends up there, two best players in school history end up as Patriots legends with him and Gronk (not to mention Teddy Bruschi was a Wildcat as well lol).

After those teams....

Tennessee scares me a lot too as I think if they want to give Levis another season, T-Mac would be a great weapon for them to pair with Ridley and see what he can do with his big arm.  Same goes for the Raiders if they were to not get a QB themselves, as they have a clear need there now that they traded Adams.

Zero concern about the Jets or Dolphins taking a WR with the ones they have and their other issues, same goes for the Giants as they'd take a QB and I don't see them taking two WR's in the top 10 back to back years if they were to not take a QB.

So yea, if we stay at 10, we're not getting him, but if we are in that 4-6 range, very decent chance there could be 2 QB's, maybe an OL or Hunter, maybe a pass rusher if it's a team like the Jets who have WRs.  That puts him still sitting there at #6, but even that will take some luck and I think any further down and we won't be able to get him.

    • If you are an athlete or former athlete (myself?  Cornhole 2021-present; Disc Golf 2013-got a mega blister and had to retire; speed walking--every black Friday at Walmart 2003-2009) you know what it is to lose confidence.  Self-inflicted or not (in my view, a lot of 2023 was coaching and a lot of 2024 was confidence), he has confidence now. How fragile is it?  I think the light is on, the game slowed down, and he is ready to do his thing.  He seems to be "mobile in the pocket" instead of "running scared."   Last year, there were times when AT was out, Johnson gone, and all he really had was XL and Coker--a raw rookie with upside and an UDFA rookie.  TE was rarely a viable option. It reminded me of Benjamin and Funchess.   Moore had to step up.  This season, Bryce has weapons.  I expect XL to improve.  I expect TMac to help tremendously, and I think Coker will be solid.  Renfrow?  Horn?  bonuses.
    • His points are valid.  However, it seems a bit based on past performance and fails to take into consideration trends and conditions that might suggest growth in 2025.   For one, he breaks the team down by position and ranks them separately.  I guess that is a fair way to do it, but they are dependent upon each other. Last year, our DL sucked.  That impacts the rest of the defense.  With no internal pressure, the QBs simply step up to avoid the Edge rush.  I would have suggested that the internal DL is now featuring pass rushers and large people who can collapse the pocket.  Secondly, the LBs were not protected very well in 2024.  It is hard to see the holes and step up when a guard is in your earhole a second after the snap.  Finally, the defensive backs will be forced to make fewer tackles and they will be better in pass protection with a new and improved DL.    Canales made an interesting comment the other day, and I (from the outside looking in) feel the same way:  (paraphrasing) "I have never seen a better group of rookies."   I think the biggest concern is the learning curve.  How long before these rookies are ready?   I am bullish on this team.  I think they win 3 of their first 4 and get confident.  The get the fans behind them.  From there, they win 6 of the remaining 13.  If they stay injury free, they have an outside shot at the NFC south.
    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
