I'm Sold on Drew Allar

Looks like we're headed into another overhyped QB class.

I'll pass. Maybe take the best available QB who falls to the late 1st to 2nd round if the Panthers are unsuccessful in free agency.

Allar has some glaring weaknesses his coaches are trying to hide with the play calls. Illinois (twice), Wisconsin, Ohio State (twice), Michigan, and Ole Miss games tell me he is a project at best.

The guy is big. He looks like a Rothlisberger in the pocket.  Many of his completions came from being under pressure and having guys in his face.

No, give me Kurtis Rourke from Indiana. He’s led INDIANA to a 9-0 start, he leads the nation in QBR and he’s 6’5 230 lbs and can run. He’s not exactly Josh Allen but he is very, very close to it.

Look at Curtis Rourke. Transferred from Ohio (yes, Ohio) to Indiana and has led them, along with new Head Coach Curt Cignetti (JMU) to a 9-0 start and has the nations highest QBR.

6’5 230 lbs and he may be a guy that falls to the back end of the top 10. I’d like to see us trade down if we could still get him. If we are burning it down and are sold on a guy that won’t go number one, trade down and take the picks and your guy.

He is flying under the radar. @MHS831 mentioned him a couple weeks ago. I’ve been paying attention sense.

I watched him at Ohio and thought he might be someone to look at later but he’s a dude. I have seen nothing on him though and somehow Indiana is still ranked outside of the Top 10. Can’t wait to see them play Ohio State.

Rourke came back today after having surgery on his thumb less than two weeks ago and was slinging it with a modified glove on his thumb. Guy is tough as nails too. I am an IU fan and this has been a magical season.  Makes up for how bad this Panthers team is

I think there are some QBs in this draft who could be good NFL QBs in the right situation--like SF was for Purdy.  Here, we have the pieces in place for a tall QB with some mobility--I really like Rourke.  I like Allar.  I see the Ohio St QB being decent.  Rourke and IU play Michigan next week--that will be a good test--momentum game.

    • Dave in a presser gassed up Anthony Tyus III and dying to see him on the field.  I mean 3 is all that needed right, and Dan loves etienne. He's one year filling in his body. If brooks is back, toss in chubba, thats 3.
    • After seeing hits in the last two UDFA pools, I do not in this group sorta of a let down after I gassed myself up.  Not like I know of their games, but just expected more. The duke DT only has to beat out hunte (2025 UDFA) or Ray (DL coach's kid) or even Cam Jackson mid 2025 5th.  I thought they would bring in more edges, IOL, TEs, etc...
    • My 2 favorite picks, since you didn't ask? 3. Brazzell II.  A 1000 yard WR with 4.37 speed and checks all the boxes for a Z Wide Receiver.  IN THE THIRD ROUND!!! 5.  Sam Hecht.  I think he will take over as the starter at some point this season and never look back.  IN THE FIFTH ROUND. Runner Up:  2. Hunter:  We were targeting a DT early in this draft because we did very little to replace Robinson in free agency.  Hunter was our guy and he will start. In addition to that, you got a starting tackle that should man one side of the new OL we will build for Bryce's second contract. A starting WR, offensive lineman, defensive lineman and possible Offensive tackle (at some point during this year from this draft will start.  UNREAL. In addition, I don't doubt that Wheatley (5th round) takes the FS job by next year and Lee III is Jackson's replacement in 2027.   Finally, even Kuwatch should be a special teams demon and LB depth.   Last year's draft was so good it was ugly.  This one will turn out to be uglier.  No offense Basbear--this ain't about you.
