I didn't put "BREAKING" in the title.  Just saying the man has been a bright spot on the team and produced.  Hope he gets us a pick or gets paid.  His game winning TD run today brought me a lot of joy that has been hard to come by in Panther land.

Great game Chuba!  Thank you and keep pounding!

Eh, he's still a RB2.  If he wants to re-sign on the cheap, sure, we can keep Hubbard around.  We had better not break the bank for a backup RB.

would love to keep him on a team friendly contract since he is a solid and reliable player but this is Chuba's only "big" payday as a RB this upcoming offseason

I'm sure another team will be willing to offer him a big payday

I'm hoping we trade him, as it doesn't make much sense to re-sign him, Brooks is going to be a 3 down back for us next year.

In FA we can find a big bruiser to be his backup and possible short yardage back to take some pounding off Brooks, but if we expect him to pan out, there is no reason to give a FA contract to an RB who is earning a halfway decent pay day next year with his play so far this year.

We are going to have the money to spend in FA that we're not going to get any comp pics back for anyone who leaves anyways, Hubbard, Clowney, and Thielen all should be moved.

No, he's not -- he's a top-15 RB based on his vision, speed, blocking ability and catching ability. Not saying to re-sign Chuba to a backbreaking deal, but don't let him walk if he can be had for pennies on the dollar.

He's not giving us a discount. He would be foolish to do so. We either meet his demands or we draft a late round replacement and move on. I love Chubba but business is business.

Hubbard is big runs or bust runs. Can't get the 1st downs in short yardage situations. Can't be a consistent 3rd down back in the flat. Considering the run blocking OL he has, he's not as good as he looks from just his highlight runs. My hope is that he makes a good change up back to Brooks.

Completely wrong. He's averaging 5ypc, if you take out his longest run this season, he's averaging 4.8ypc. He consistently gets at least 3-5 yards. He averages 1.9 yards after contact which is the same as Jahmyr Gibbs and Bijan Robinson and better than Saquon Barkley, Breece Hall, Joe Mixon, and Jonathan Taylor to name a few (among RBs with at least 100 carries this season). He's only been tackled for a loss on 7 of his 133 carries (5.2%) He's not a big play back with only 20 runs of 10+ yards. He's as consistent as it gets.

    • Basically agree.  He is the one of that bunch that offers upgraded pass catching along with he is supposed to be kind of special.   Then you have the OL and the ideas that if they perform you can have JAG backs and still do well. So okay we could be fine.  But Brooks is important and to me that receiving element sets him apart.  So there sure is something riding on him.     What strikes me as incongruent is people over in Atlanta or those that follow them look at Penix with a third surgery and act like it is no big deal.      And we are on pins and needles over Brooks.  Either they should worry a lot more or we should worry a lot less.
    • I usually go a game or two optimist over the consensus here but this is too early for me to say. I need to see some players on the field.  I am not feeling real optimistic though.
    • Okay as a ‘take CJ’ fan I actually don’t obsess over CJ and Houston, contrary to the narrative.  But I thought I picked up some noise that his OL left a lot to be desired.    Not a single Beyce supporter would judge him harshly if he had a crappy OL. We all know that.    So be fair about it.  A QB needs to be protected.  Especially a guy that gets to his spot and wants to finish the play from there. Which CJ is.
