What franchises are in worse shape than the Panthers

Honestly, the Browns are the only ones I think who are for sure and it's only because the Deshaun trade plus that contract was even worse than the Bruce trade - because of the contract.

I support calling Bryce, Bruce instead. My phone has auto corrected that so many times that I’m tired of fixing it and also it’s a bit appropriate in the sense that Bryce Young is not Batman.

I would disagree. That is an insanely talent filled roster.

According to this guy, they have a lot of big names.  But are not necessarily more talented than other teams.

Good question.

Right now most of those teams have talent. Teams like NY and Cleveland just need a franchise QB and they will be in position to do so in the draft.

The only team I think are in a worse position than us is the Saints. Bad cap situation with a declining aging QB. They have to start thinking rebuild, but they can't really do that because of their cap situation.

I agree. Take the Giants, for example. There was a thread about how our 3 rookie WRs/TEs had more yards than Nabers, but they have Nabers, Wandale and Johnson as three 23 (Coker is 23) and under receivers that I would take over ours, mainly because Nabers is a stud. Heck, Jones is absolutely the reason why we beat the Giants. A good QB and we lose easily.

We’ve got some decent young guys, but we are missing a lot and let’s be honest our young guys can be good, but I am not sure I see above average yet, which is top 10 or 12 in the NFL.

100%. People are not doing a talent by talent comparison. The only team close is probably the Patriots. They are insanely talent deficient.

But they look like they may have found a QB and all of a sudden they are in games against the Rams and beat up the Bears who throttled us 36-10.

Having a QB that can win you games makes a huge difference than a QB who’s being protected from making multiple red zone interceptions like Daniel Jones.

we’ll see when they play the Lions on Dec 30. CMC has tendinitis, which doesn’t go away. his missed game numbers will just keep piling up.

I don't think it's about that. Also, I don't think they make the playoffs this year.

The bulk of their problems this year have been injuries. That isn't likely to be a continual thing.

They still have the most talented roster in the NFL and do a very good job with draft talent evaluations almost every year. Until that stops, they will largely remaining a contending team.

Now, there will be a point that they have to make difficult choices(they already have) on the roster much like the Saints did. And if they play the kick the can game too much at some point in the future the bill will have to be paid. But, even with all that, the Saints are still a far more talented team than the Panthers at the moment.

It would take a long time for that to happen in SF.

They are INSANELY more talented than us. There is not even an argument to be made in that regard.

Maye is very talented but also TO prone(basically what he is doing now) and it's led them to a 2-4 record versus Jacoby Brissett's 1-4 record. If anything that shows how little difference he can make because of the insanely talentless roster.

I think if this convo is held anywhere else in the world by reasonable football fans.....Carolina is generally going to rank at 32 and the worst.

Yeah we just don't have the roster yet.

Even the Jets for example have Breece, Wilson, Sauce, McDonald IV, Jermaine Johnson, Fashanu as a young core.

LVR, Cleveland, NYG, TEN, & NE are nearest.  I think there's an argument up to around being 27th.

I could entertain an argument for Clev and the Raiders.   But in the end, Tepper's overall resume as an owner and being the worst in all of pro sports is always going to tilt the scale in the end.  Actually, Clev is pretty close.

Trying to be as objective as possible, it' still us. Yes the Browns have the deshaun contract but they have a talented roster otherwise. Yes the Jets have been historically not great but they too have a lot of talent. The Jaguars are perpertually finding themselves at the bottom and depending on how you feel about Lawrence they are maybe the only team you could say is just as hopeless as us but they have some young talented players as well so I would put them over us too.

Until we string together multiple solid drafts we will remain the least hopeful team just due to our lack of talent on the roster, forget the QB position

I couldn't lol we are 32. I think if you asked this question in this past off-season, the answer would be we are 32 if bryce fails again, maybe 5-8 spots higher if he actually took a big step in the right direction.

Honestly, there is a significant gulf in talent between us and Cleveland.

The only team close to us in that realm is New England.

The Raiders aren't that much more talented than us, but they are also one of the top 3 most projected cap space teams this coming offseason, so their odds of being able to improve are higher. A lot would depend on QB but the same could be said about us.

    • Well bois, we gave the Devils their due! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... The jersey boys have been trying to jack our steeze for a few years now. They've followed our blueprints and studied our tape. Every offseason, they pounce on our sloppy seconds in a Newark minute. Quick with the puck, ferocious on the forecheck and stifling team defense. Down to the colors, this is this closest we'll come to having to play ourselves in Ole Stanley's Hockey Hoedown. As the postseason began, Rod stood flexing in the gym mirror and saw this guy staring back from the void... (Shutters) When beating us at our game didn't work, Timo and the Tri-State Trash tried to tango instead. Outside of a bitchass cheapshot on Freddie, that poo didn't work either. Their goon squad was getting wrecked by our bantam weights. As much as we all wanted to see Svechy or Staal Bunyan literally break someone in half after the Great Dane went down, they didnt need to. Our munchkins were monsters! Jarvis obliterating giants at the blue line, Logan laying the Stank on dudes twice his size and Blakers blasting Timo into next season. It was beautiful to see! (Side note: Does JBlo wear lead weights under his pads? 170lbs shouldn't be able to hit that hard!) We closed it out in 5, for the gentleman's sweep. Only team in the league to win a series in each of the past 7(?) seasons! And, this was supposed to be a rebuilding year... Onto the awards: Key To The Series : 6 for 19 - .316% IT FINALLY WORKED!!! MVP : 16/180 g/s - .911 save% - 2.53 gaa Seriously, without this dude, we would've won in 3! (Trust me bro) 3rd Star : 6/94 g/s - .936 save % - 1.59 gaa The Great Dane   2nd Star : 3 g - 5 a - +1 - 20:38 toi/g - 18 hits - 3 bs - 58.1% fo 3 PP goals and the 2OT series winning goal! WOOAAAHHH NELLY!!!!   And, your 1st Star of the series : 5 g - 1 a - +3 - 16:48 toi/g - 16 hits - 1 bs - 1 tk - 50% fo Zero, I repeat, zero penalty minutes for the series! MISSSTAAAHHH SVEEECHNIKOOOV!!!!!! Onto The Next: Now, we wait for the Habs to make it a nasty 7 game slog, while we recuperate. And, hopefully, get Nikishin, and some of the other black aces some real peactice time. We are gonna need those guys at some point. Because, if you think the Devils were dirty, hoooo boy, wait till you see what's next...
    • I don’t watch college football anymore (used to be Stanford STH but meh), but my wife is Hawaiian and her favorite color is purple, so I guess I knew Tet was my new favorite player to root for when he came out in a purple suit and lei and threw up the Shaka.
