Here is where I'm at.  Young had his best day as a pro.  He kept us in the game and didn't lose it for us. GREAT! However, that stat line is a mediocre game for the average NFL QB and this is his best game to date.

I'm happy for him to keep playing better, especially if it keeps out of the QB conversation on day 1 in April.  I simply think his ceiling is career backup or low end starter.

Maybe in a vacuum, but probably more appropriate to compare his game to other QBs that have played KC this season.

And I wouldn't call that a mediocre game. Have you watched the other young QBs play lately? Everybody isn't lighting it up, even against weaker defenses. And carolina had no run game to lean on today.

I can agree with that, in that this is his ceiling. He's been continuously improving which has been impressive. Looking forward to a few more games and see what he does.

Yeah, it's not like he was playing against one of the best teams in the league or anything.

People look at his stats and all they see is him doing the same.

But this week he did it against the chiefs .

People are overlooking that essential bit.

So used to him looking mediocre at best against bad teams, even though he's been getting a good bit more confident each week.

Truthfully, the chiefs should have slaughtered him and he should have had the WORST game of his career.

That didn't happen. Why? Because maybe he's getting even better than we thought?

It makes me interested to see what he does going forward. Nothing more, nothing less. He had a good game against a good team. Right now that's a massive anomaly in his career. So let's see what happens going forward.

This is the right approach. But will add there is reason to be optimistic based on the last 4 games.

He looked for once like a competent nfl qb.  His guys had some drops, he had some misfires but he also had like 3 above average throws.  He should start from here on out and see what happens.   Even after yesterday I still think competition should be brought in in the offseason if we are going to keep him

This KC team isn't the juggernaut it once was.  How many one score games have they won this season?  How many of those one score wins would probably have been loses if Mahomes wasn't the QB?  Their secondary is vulnerable and it was obvious today.  Grandpa Thielen was able to get open at will all game long.

Bryce played well, but thinking this is the exact same KC defense Young was able to move the ball against as last year isn't going to compute.  Last year's KC defense was #2 overall.  They have regressed.

I've said it before, Bryce can move the ball before the red zone, but once there, he struggles.  He is not a threat with his legs and the passing windows get much tighter.  He's not turning the ball over, so that is a great place to start and build upon.  I still question much better he can get.  Beyond a game manager?  I highly doubt it.

    • Well bois, we gave the Devils their due! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... The jersey boys have been trying to jack our steeze for a few years now. They've followed our blueprints and studied our tape. Every offseason, they pounce on our sloppy seconds in a Newark minute. Quick with the puck, ferocious on the forecheck and stifling team defense. Down to the colors, this is this closest we'll come to having to play ourselves in Ole Stanley's Hockey Hoedown. As the postseason began, Rod stood flexing in the gym mirror and saw this guy staring back from the void... (Shutters) When beating us at our game didn't work, Timo and the Tri-State Trash tried to tango instead. Outside of a bitchass cheapshot on Freddie, that poo didn't work either. Their goon squad was getting wrecked by our bantam weights. As much as we all wanted to see Svechy or Staal Bunyan literally break someone in half after the Great Dane went down, they didnt need to. Our munchkins were monsters! Jarvis obliterating giants at the blue line, Logan laying the Stank on dudes twice his size and Blakers blasting Timo into next season. It was beautiful to see! (Side note: Does JBlo wear lead weights under his pads? 170lbs shouldn't be able to hit that hard!) We closed it out in 5, for the gentleman's sweep. Only team in the league to win a series in each of the past 7(?) seasons! And, this was supposed to be a rebuilding year... Onto the awards: Key To The Series : 6 for 19 - .316% IT FINALLY WORKED!!! MVP : 16/180 g/s - .911 save% - 2.53 gaa Seriously, without this dude, we would've won in 3! (Trust me bro) 3rd Star : 6/94 g/s - .936 save % - 1.59 gaa The Great Dane   2nd Star : 3 g - 5 a - +1 - 20:38 toi/g - 18 hits - 3 bs - 58.1% fo 3 PP goals and the 2OT series winning goal! WOOAAAHHH NELLY!!!!   And, your 1st Star of the series : 5 g - 1 a - +3 - 16:48 toi/g - 16 hits - 1 bs - 1 tk - 50% fo Zero, I repeat, zero penalty minutes for the series! MISSSTAAAHHH SVEEECHNIKOOOV!!!!!! Onto The Next: Now, we wait for the Habs to make it a nasty 7 game slog, while we recuperate. And, hopefully, get Nikishin, and some of the other black aces some real peactice time. We are gonna need those guys at some point. Because, if you think the Devils were dirty, hoooo boy, wait till you see what's next...
    • I don’t watch college football anymore (used to be Stanford STH but meh), but my wife is Hawaiian and her favorite color is purple, so I guess I knew Tet was my new favorite player to root for when he came out in a purple suit and lei and threw up the Shaka.
    • AJ Green is who I think of as well; the body control, fluidity of movement, hands catcher, always high pointing the ball with the occasional insane/acrobatic type of grab, etc
