mac and bone literally just said he is playing like the best qb in the league.  Goddamn dont ever change fnz

I'm fairly enthusiastic he's not hot garbage anymore but it's getting silly.

They may or may not believe that but their job isn't to analyze its to get stupid people engaged.

That's also not what they said.

He's playing like "one of the best".  Which over the last several weeks, he has.

And yea, it's Mac and Bone; they are just fans running a radio show.

I'm shocked clownface actually listens to Panthers sports talk radio when he clearly hates the team.

Young completed 55% of his passes for 190 yds sith a 69 passer rating while throwing and interception that lead to 7  when we lost by 6 and he is  getting praised.

Interesting

Let's be fair here. If Legette didn't have stone hands it would've been 220 yards, 2 TDs and 1 Int and we'd have been winning with 45 seconds left. More than respectable for a road game against the Eagles who have the best overall defense and only allowing 180 yards passing per game.

context doesn't matter when you've got your narrative to run with.

Absolutely bonkers takes going on right now with Bryce. I’m all for people saying he’s improved and playing good ball (which he has and is) but it’s not spectacular like what fnz is saying. They aren’t the only ones, national talking heads are shouting from the mountain tops as well, I’m sorry but under 200 yards, one TD and a game losing INT isn’t the best football in the league.

Instead of hyping him up like everyone is doing, why not take a realist approach and just say he’s playing well. All this talk about he’s “him” and the franchise and all that is wild. Let him finish out the season first. For us to declare him as the guy with the start of his career he had is irresponsible. Before anyone calls me a hater, I’ve said multiple times I want him to do well because if he does, we win, I’ve even acknowledged he’s proven me wrong and is playing well, but the overreactions are exhausting.

All the people dogging on XL and saying they are done with him and sucks etc, better show the same patience with him they did with Bryce because a majority of this board (myself included) thought Bryce was done and look what’s happening.

If Bryce didnt sail that INT panthers would have won.

Where I stand is that I had completely written him off and was done with him, but he's turned it around enough to make me alright with naming him the starter next year. He's not currently good enough to call him a franchise QB, but the hope is that he keeps growing. Maybe this is my own bias, but I feel like most fans fall somewhere around this area. Most of the hot takes on here are being made by a few on here who are attempting to clown the majority who were done with Bryce after his consistently poor performances.

Also no one should be making definitive statements about XL. Chuba Hubbard and Derek Brown are just recent examples of players declared busts in year one that have become franchise corner pieces. With that said, I'm in favor of going WR round one if a top tier prospect falls to us.

False. That was in the 1st half and it wasn't a pick 6. The defense has to make a stop on the Eagles side of the field. Young orchestrated a TD drive in the 3rd quarter to take the lead only to have the defense surrender it in the 4th. Young then drove down the field from our own 2 yrd line only to have X drop the go ahead TD with 45 seconds left in the game. That is what cost us the game. Maybe you should watch the game instead of the box scores.

Let's not forget J. Sanders going full Nakamura on a perfectly placed scramble drill ball that may have gone for 70 and a TD.

If the INT wasn’t thrown eagles probably don’t score. At the very least, panthers punt with not much time left. I watched the game, that’s why I said when the eagles scored off the turnover that was the game. If we are gonna blame XL blame others mistakes too. Take those bs box score comments back to your momma.

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
