Not sure how being bottom 10 in passing justifies so much confidence..

Stats aside, it's all about the eye test for me. These last 3 weeks I've seen a franchise QB. If not for a botched snap and a egregious drop, we probably beat the two best teams in the NFL. Both times driving his team down the field to win the game. He's escaping the pocket more, making plays with his feet, making good NFL throws (still want to see his deep ball get better), reading the defense better, etc. I mean, just turn on his film from earlier in the year to now.......it is night and day.

Now, I have to see it for the remainder of the year before I jump on the bandwagon. But if you're still trying to downplay Bryce after what we've seen the last month, then you really do just want to see him fail.

This is great summary post.

Just to add, his late 4th quarter drives really won me over. Just this past game, philly downed the punt at like their one yard line. BY drives the team, performing magic tricks along the way until panthers 30. This is against the current best defense in Philly and both sides are having trouble passing.

Then he throws a great pass to XL in which he 98% fully catches it for a TD.......... Did I mention NO time outs and there was like 2:30 on the clock.....My God what else can you ask of him given his WRs and TEs????

He's done similar drives in like 4 out of the last 6, only to have a drop, missed FG, mahomes magic, or defense fold again. Even remember the STer Farley got a 15 yarder on Kick off to help KC tie with 30 secs that the fuging defenes could not slow down mahomes....

It's totally unfair a couple years from now, all that will be forgotten cause the team didn't win and add stats to BY(ala 4th quarter comebacks).

Team is losing, but it has nothing to do with BY playing.

Our receivers are XL, 60 year old thielen, and ungraded rookie,  and a rookie te who has shown flashes but has a lot to learn.  We have also really focused on the run game to try to run games out so the other team has less possessions because our defense is bad even though it has looked better lately.   Stop focusing on stats and use your eyes.  Bryce is playing a totally different type of football since he came back from the benching.  You can say you're not sure he will be a franchise qb right now sure,  but he has been the best player on our team the past few weeks and no matter how pessimistic you want to be, he's not even on the list of reasons we are losing.

Let’s take out all the terrible games at the start of the year.

How do we rank over the past 3 games?

14th it turns out.

(who is that at 15th)?

Now…what would the rank be if we didn’t have all those drops?

We were decimated by injuries and we were getting blown out.  Bryce threw for 300 yards in his first four games--2 after being benched.  But he stepped up during the Denver game--his fifth--and since then, has thrown for 1270 yards in six games--many more passes down field.  Yet some cherry picking stat critics want to point out that he is averaging a 59% completion rate.  That is right--but he is throwing it downfield--which is how his average improved from 75 yards per game (games 1-4) to 210 yards per game (his last six starts).  Does that send him to Canton? No.  Pro Bowl?  No.  But he is improving, and if anyone cant see the connection between Bryce's success of late (wins against the Saints and Giants and lost to the Chiefs, Bucs, and Eagles by a total of 12 points combined.  Meanwhile, he lost Johnson (#1 WR) and that is about when his completion yardage improved.  He just got AT back, lost Marshall and Mingo (no biggie, but consistency is impacted), He just lost Coker for the past 3 games who's per game average would make him the seventh most productive rookie WR.  XL is still raw, and Moore has looked solid--he has a rookie TE who is 12th among rookie  WRs and TEs.  He lost his center.  Weapons?  When have the been together on the field?  Yet he has improved by 125 yards per game since his fourth game starting this season.  The team is now competitive.  Had XL decided to catch passes on Sunday, the team would be 3-3 with an overtime loss to Tampa and a last second FG to KC.  If you can't see the growth, I think you are a fan of the wrong sport.

It doesn't work like that

If we’re judging his play since the benching it does.

Live and die on stats if you must, he looks way better and we’ll know if he is the long term answer sometime next season.

You’ve made your point. Now wait and see what happens.

you cant see say "if" so and so catches the ball and not apply it across the board.  Every qb deals with dropped passes.  And if you go there you can say "if" theilen doesnt make a crazy play on the tipped pass on 4rth down its a blowout.   You cannot deal in hypotheticals and not layer it across the board.  This game is one with ebbs and flows, its just is what it is.  The margins are too thin for mistakes.

That’s fine. So he’s 14th in passing yards over the past 3 games. A little more than Mahomes.

There are way to many variables to statistically measure the play, and ultimately, wins matter and nothing else does.  However, KC?  Philly?  Tampa? all close games vs playoff teams (probably) with a QB who was left for dead and asked to play without multiple combinations of his top 5 WRs who were on the roster at the beginning of the year.  This ain't Disney.  We could beat Dallas--how many would have said that week 3?   We have a 34-year old white dude from Minnesota state who probably cant run a 4.8 today, an undrafted free agent from Holy Cross, a very raw WR with one season of college experience-and a wr best known for his special teams abilities. Our best TE is a fourth round rookie. During that time, we lost the #1 WR, the expected #2/3 WR (Mingo), and the slot to injury.  Average is damn good right now---and when the defense gets Brown back and fills some holes, we could be better than average.  Again, this aint Disney.

Hes got that 4th Q gotta have it "it" factor.  That poo can't be measured or coached.  Its rare and its a SB winning trait.

You do whatever it takes to have By be successful.  Prioritize weapons, protection, and a Defense.

Get BY in position to win something big and he has that rare trait that made him the #1 OVR pick

    • To start with, you wouldn’t want to count up that value chart. You would see quickly where that is headed. But you basically did a quantity comparison, while ignoring quality.  I am looking at 2023 as the start, because it became all about Bryce.  2023 you have 4 picks plus DJ Moore for offense vs 2 (80 and 145) for defense.  2024 you got the 1st overall, the 32, the 46 and the 101 for offense vs 72, 157, 200 and 240 for defense. Leave the FA IOL out of it. Which was a crazy big  investment. But it wasn’t draft.  Anyway, that is basically 4 top 100 picks for offense and 4 picks for defense in 2024. Except they were 2 first rounders, the second rounder, and the 4th was really high at 101. Vs 72 and day three stuff. Please….  Second quoted/bolded… See you think we hate Bryce. That isn’t it at all. It is nice easy way to characterize us and discredit our talking points though.   Me, I do mostly hate watching him play. But I don’t hate the person. I hate the hell out of the stanning.  It started with the very first question I asked about his footwork, arm strength, and size. Height being the principle objection. I never even got to the durability factor. There was plenty without factoring that in.  But there was rabid opposition to even asking the question of what a couple of small fractions of a second extra closing time would do for the defenders.  What the extra time it takes to flip the hips would do vs a pass rush or on the other end after the ball is in the air. Split second more for recognition where it is going for the DBs.  The tippy toe backpedal.  That poo was a mess and it has always been mess but no Bryce fan wanted to hear it. “Go get another team to root for”. “It worked in the SEC it will be fine in the NFL you don’t know football you are just a hater”.  It got worse when the real games started. It has never stopped. It is nice that many people have left that train so there is less abuse but it hasn’t stopped.  So whatever…
    • Whatever school you attended, I don't know and I don't care, but I would suggest demanding a refund.    Something was completely missed there.
    • The draft capital since since 2023 has in no way been pretty even.  Especially when you zero in on day 1 and day 2 draft picks.  Draft capital has vastly gone toward the O over D.
