"Don’t Look Now, but Bryce Young is Closing the Gap on C.J. Stroud"

What does Bryce have to do to get you on the bandwagon?

Objectively if he is a Panthers fan and here talking about his team he is by definition on the Bryce wagon. He may not be sold on him as a franchise QB but that isn't a prerequisite requirement to be a Panthers fan. There are definitely some folks here who just need their own community where they can heavily moderate others opinions.

What do you mean?

The article seems pretty reasoned - neither player has had a great sophomore year, but Young has been improving the last 6 starts while Stroud has not, though he a lot of that appears to be on supporting cast... The article is clear to say Stroud is still ahead.

I assumed no one was going to read the article so I put the summary in the OP.

Seems like no one read the summary either.

Can't compare their sophomore seasons without diving into the fact that as rookies and the first two weeks of this season more often than not Bryce Young looked like he might not belong on an NFL field. If you're having a comparative debate you can't just erase that from the conversation. As such the best conclusion any reasonable individual can make is a much larger sample size is needed. The onus is on Bryce to do that next season when the games really matter for us and playoffs are on the line.

I think the headline is making people think it says something different than it does... It does say not to judge either player by their rookie year, tho. But it says this:

"None of this means that the Young versus Stroud debate should be completely reborn. Stroud remains the superior player and will likely remain so unless something drastically changes.

However, Young has looked like he has the tools to be a solid quarterback in the NFL over the past six weeks – as long as he continues to improve. And Stroud still possesses the mechanics to become a top player in the NFL – just not in Year 2."

Calm down bro, you'll fall right off the wagon again the next bad game he has. Some of us don't have wild emotional swings because we don't have the mentality of a 13 year old girl.

Actively rooting for a QB to fail. I can see why you're just a college fan. You care nothing about the Panthers.

It's okay to be wrong about Bryce. I thought he was done just like you. Then he started playing better and doing it vs the better teams in football. If you can't respect then you never will.

Bryce Up Son!

It's far too early to be crowning Bryce much like it was far too early to be crowning Stroud much like it is far to early to be crowning Daniels....etc, etc.

Best QB in a draft takes years to figure out(usually).

I am just happy Bryce is even bringing this illogical discussion up after last year and early this season. I am gonna focus on that huge W.

I wrote him off completely. He's making me a believer. Hopefully he keeps it up long-term.

Well I can't speak for LG, but maybe winning some games might work for me.

With one of the worst rosters in the league?

I like that we are competitive vs playoff caliber teams with a limited roster. The only way to get talent is position yourself to get the top pick. We are doing fine by staying competitive and still losing.

The media is respecting us for how well we have been playing even in the losses.

I was a Bryce stan, loved the draft pick. Transitioned over 2023 to a firm believer that he was never going to be an NFL starting caliber QB. Now I am just waiting and seeing.

Glad to have him start to win me back. It's nice to not be a complete laughingstock.

That's one that that people have largely missed. The national media as moved on from us being the NFL laughingstock. That's impressive.

    • Well bois, we gave the Devils their due! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... The jersey boys have been trying to jack our steeze for a few years now. They've followed our blueprints and studied our tape. Every offseason, they pounce on our sloppy seconds in a Newark minute. Quick with the puck, ferocious on the forecheck and stifling team defense. Down to the colors, this is this closest we'll come to having to play ourselves in Ole Stanley's Hockey Hoedown. As the postseason began, Rod stood flexing in the gym mirror and saw this guy staring back from the void... (Shutters) When beating us at our game didn't work, Timo and the Tri-State Trash tried to tango instead. Outside of a bitchass cheapshot on Freddie, that poo didn't work either. Their goon squad was getting wrecked by our bantam weights. As much as we all wanted to see Svechy or Staal Bunyan literally break someone in half after the Great Dane went down, they didnt need to. Our munchkins were monsters! Jarvis obliterating giants at the blue line, Logan laying the Stank on dudes twice his size and Blakers blasting Timo into next season. It was beautiful to see! (Side note: Does JBlo wear lead weights under his pads? 170lbs shouldn't be able to hit that hard!) We closed it out in 5, for the gentleman's sweep. Only team in the league to win a series in each of the past 7(?) seasons! And, this was supposed to be a rebuilding year... Onto the awards: Key To The Series : 6 for 19 - .316% IT FINALLY WORKED!!! MVP : 16/180 g/s - .911 save% - 2.53 gaa Seriously, without this dude, we would've won in 3! (Trust me bro) 3rd Star : 6/94 g/s - .936 save % - 1.59 gaa The Great Dane   2nd Star : 3 g - 5 a - +1 - 20:38 toi/g - 18 hits - 3 bs - 58.1% fo 3 PP goals and the 2OT series winning goal! WOOAAAHHH NELLY!!!!   And, your 1st Star of the series : 5 g - 1 a - +3 - 16:48 toi/g - 16 hits - 1 bs - 1 tk - 50% fo Zero, I repeat, zero penalty minutes for the series! MISSSTAAAHHH SVEEECHNIKOOOV!!!!!! Onto The Next: Now, we wait for the Habs to make it a nasty 7 game slog, while we recuperate. And, hopefully, get Nikishin, and some of the other black aces some real peactice time. We are gonna need those guys at some point. Because, if you think the Devils were dirty, hoooo boy, wait till you see what's next...
