What a ball licker.   Bryce was maybe a c+/b- today

Defenses should just sit back in coverage until Bryce can find an open target. right?  I mean collapsing the pocket on a 5'9" QB that gets happy feet and panics under pressure isn't the best way to defend him.  Ooops, oh boy...hopefully NFL DCs aren't going to read that.

We have set Evero up to fail but I mean....does he have to fail so spectacularly???

My honest opinion is that it's about 80% talent and 20% Evero.

I mean, this defense is horrifying.

I do not believe that anymore

I have never, ever

1. Seen so many players have no clue where the ball carrier is

2. An unwillingness to tackle or lacking techniques to tackle

3. Not even aware of the rules as in the 2nd and 27, an offside and they just freaking stop

These are pro level players. They are in the nfl.  Top 2% of college.  …and this, is what we see…week after week after week

there are freshmen in college that would do better

time to stop being Mr nice guy with these players and their business decisions

Nowhere else to post it but how did the panthers fumble baker and darnold so bad? Darnold looks like stud right now

I was screaming this two years ago. Let me dust off my old talking points real quick.

1) Darnold struggled in 2021 in Joe Brady's scheme. If you remember this is where he was getting sacked every play. 3/5 of those OL aren't even on an NFL team anymore. Which is why I get irritated when people complain about this OL. Matt Rhule was also about to can Joe Brady's ass because he had Darnold throwing the ball 30-40 times per game and eventually did.

2) In 2022, Baker was still getting used to McAdoo's scheme the first few games, then Rhule got fired and Wilks went to the run and was very Play Action heavy. The scheme was perfect for Darnold though, which is why when he came back from injury he did pretty decent. (9 TDs 3 INT and 1200 yards in 6 games)

It was just managed horribly. If Wilks would have had another season to build pieces around Sam and we would have kept DJ Moore, this franchise would have looked different.

You had some points. No need to go to extremes.

Darnold was looking ok here.

Tepper cleaned coaching house instead of going with what was showing some potential and toughness under Wilks.

Wilks and Darnold might not have amounted to much but at least we'd have Moore and some draft picks. It wouldn't have been the spectacular failure of last year.

Because this fan base + ownership want immediate results.

Like all QBs, they play well when the team plays well.

We were trash when they were here.

You know- the fugging media is to blame too. All the reporters that follow the Panthers use to just squat and shittttt all over Darnold and Mayfield every single game.

Bryce hardly gets anything except from Newton, who at this point has almost zero people taking him seriously anymore.

    • This season only ends one way... We win this Sunday. Bryce is decent. We take back 1st place...   Only to then get our brakes blown off in the last two weeks.
    • Here's one of the most maddening things, that will be shown in full light over the next three weeks. The same people around here that called Darnold a bum and Mayfield a washed up over draft are also the ones saying Bryce is a catastrophe. Yeah, and I've been one who said Bryce wasn't big enough, brave enough or capable enough. I said back in the day that Darnold had a lot of fight in him and got shouted down. And on Mayfield, heck I didn't know, I just knew we had a very, very bad team that was run terribly. But I saw both of those guys go out there and resurrect their careers and be play-off bound since shaking the Carolina clay dust off their cleats. And we sat there and cat called their cars as they pulled out of the parking lot, laughing at what nobodies they were. Over the next three weeks, those two guys may just serve us sh!t sandwiches and then settle down to their just desserts. And then we'll probably let Bryce go off into the realm of other teams. And when that happens, will we see him coming back, better than before and we're left to re-sit this cycle all over again? Same naysayers, same results, same revolving carousel of ponies and pundits?  Will we end up looking like the Temu version of the San Diego Chargers back in the day watching Drew Brees come to fruition in the previously moribund Superdome while we whiff on a Manning pick just to be jilted for Phillip "Always a Bridesmaid" Rivers?
