Do you think we have a top 10 QB now?

Hmm no but the past few weeks have been pretty close. I think I'd go off top of my head: Lamar, Allen, Burrow, Mahomes, Daniels (cautious here after CJ sophomore slump), Baker, Stafford, Goff... Shoot there aren't any more I'd put for sure above him. Sam and Jordan maybe? Yeah ok maybe top 10.

We might not know for a decade or even longer. For quite awhile it looked like the Chargers won that Eli trade big time. But it ended up being two rings to none.

Really? People were pretty confident declaring we lost in last year lol

This is the best game of his career & it took Bryce 28 starts to do what Dalton did in his 2nd start as a Panther.

Consistency is needed. Can't go 5 games to have 1 win like this. That's why I refer to Bryce as flash & crash. This was Penix's 2nd start. Is Penix a franchise QB after looking good?

Let's hope this is Bryce's coming out game. Can't get thumped by the Saints, Bucs & Cowboys over a 12 game season only to hang your hat on a Falcons OT win. He had 3 OT wins against teams that didn't make the playoffs & 1 close win against another team that didn't make the playoffs.

The hope right now is that Bryce is good enough to consistently split wins with the losing teams in the NFC South.

He's still at the bottom of NFL starters with new rookies coming in & veteran backups as good of not better than Bryce.

He's below Mayfield, Carr, Cousins and possibly Penix (too early, but better start to career) in the NFC South.

Caleb Williams, Daniel Jones & Kyler Murray were the worst starters for their NFC division. Bryce has had to improve to be on par with them & those 3 may still have the edge on Young.

The worst starters in the AFC were Gardner Minshew, Will Levis, Derek Maye & Deshaun Watson.

I'd take Bryce over Minshew, Levis & maybe Jones. I'd also take some backups over Bryce. Then you have the QBs in the next draft who will challenge Bryce quickly.

I fully expect hype from his best game leading to confusion & excuses for Bryce as to why the Panthers continue to lose next season.

He all but locked up comeback player of the year today.

Here is what has impressed me today the most, and only the most dug in hater can deny.

His first NFL start was at the dome. Panthers never win there any damn way, but he looked like he never even belonged in the NFL. He was visibly shell shocked and demoralized.

Fast forward to today. His first return to where he played the worst, most embarrassing game, ever, of his football life…

and he hangs a 40 burger en route to an OT win. With no Chuba. Hunt. Horn. No defense.

How good or not good the falcons are that year literally does. Not. Matter. when the game is in the dome. 2003. 2015. Yup, nope. That’s an L.

That’s real strong.

Top 10? Way premature, but today was a top 10 QB performance for today’s games.

Bryce won 4 games this season with pedestrian/middle of the pack production on the year.

I mean they sometimes award that for sucking and then being good….but that would be wild as hell to give it to Bryce off that

It is tough to decide who is a top 10 QB since QB rankings are dependent on so many factors. But things like good against pressure, clutch in the 4th quarter, good in the 2 minute drill, manages the game, good TD to Int ratio, etc. tell you more than simple stats like completion percentage or passing yards per game and the like.

What I know about Bryce is he is tough and gritty and gives it his all. And he is mentally tough as steel. Will he be the franchise guy. I hope so given what we have invested and his character and resilience. He is the kind if guy you can build around.

Another way of looking at: Bryce was able to win 4 games this season with what will historically be one of the worst NFL defenses of all time. He lost to 3 playoff teams by 1 score.

Football is a complementary sport. With an average defense, this probably would have been an 8 or 9 win team.

Im not a hugger by any stretch, but to have won any damn games with this defense is a minor miracle.

One thing to add to the pro Bryce list is he is absolutely fuggin CLUTCH in the 4th and OT when game is on the line. That is one of the most important traits a QB can have

    • I’ve haven’t seen anything that says we have interest in Njoku?
    • I think the Njoku interest revealed intent and the type of TE they want.  I really expected more from Sanders.
    • Defensive tackle (or end in a 3-4 base) is suddenly a rather significant need.  It seems to be a forbidden topic on the Huddle.  Well I am going to unforbidden it for this thread. When we lost Robinson, it was a salary cap cutting move, saving us about $9m or so, I think.  That suggests that we are going to get cheaper, younger, and maybe, more multi-dimensional.  First, what did we lose in Robinson: (Charlotte Observer)  "Robinson co-led the team in sacks (5.5) in 2024, and he ranked second among Carolina linemen, behind Brown, in sacks (2.5) in 2025. (Derrick) Brown played on 76.4% of the Panthers’ defensive snaps last year, while Robinson played on 62.2% of those reps. No other defensive lineman played more than 38.3%, as free-agent addition, Turk Wharton, dealt with injuries throughout his first season in Carolina. Wharton played in just nine games, producing 36 total tackles and two sacks. He’s guaranteed $14 million this upcoming season. Read more at: https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article314544998.html#storylink=cpy OK, about Turk Wharton.  The Observer claims that he and Bobby Brown III were to rotate into the Robinson DE position, but that is too weird for my head to comprehend.  First, Brown III is a NT by trade and Wharton weighs about 280 lbs and is not stout vs. the run.  Brown III is not going to provide the internal pass pressure; he is basically designed to take on double teams and dig in.  Wharton, on the other hand, had a PFF score in those 9 games of 40 or so.  In fairness, he was playing with injuries, but Damn.  PFF gives me a higher rating at the Golden Corral buffet.  In other words, we need a true DT who can fill the two thirds of snaps that we just released.  We can't count on Turk and Brown III is not the answer.  Cam Jackson?  Same as Brown.  Have your people do what they do best.  Furthermore, Derrick Brown probably should limit his snaps.  Playing more than 3/4 of the snaps is hard on the body.  A tired player in the trenches is more prone to lower-body injuries. We need a player who can give Derrick Brown some relief and play opposite him as well.  Turk can rotate in but he needs to shoot gaps and give Guards and tackles fits--a change of pace.   I have to think we are going to draft DT much sooner than most Huddlers realize.  My favorite, you didn't ask? Probable second-rounder Gracen Halton (No. 59 overall, according to ESPN's March 2026 update). Once considered a Day 3 sleeper, his 2026 NFL draft stock has exploded into Round 2 or 3 due to elite interior pass-rush metrics.  Projected Round: 2 (Early to Mid) Key Traits: Elite explosive, quickness, 12.2%+ pass-rush win rate, and positional versatility to play inside on passing downs. Combine Highlights: Led defensive tackles in the vertical jump (36.5”) and broad jump, per Sports Illustrated. Draft Stock: Rising fast due to consistent 2025 production (7 tackles for loss) and a "freak show" combine performance, according to Stormin in Norman.  Halton is considered a high-motor playmaker and a potential Day 2 standout, notes   I would not be surprised to see DT on day 2.
