Evero will return as DC

I think the issue is mostly lack of talent, not coaching. But I still don't agree with keeping him on board.

When you're in the running for the worst defense in NFL history a change in direction/scheme is warranted regardless of talent level. Prefer to switch back to 4-3 and bring in a new coach. "More of the same" when you're historically bad doesn't seems like a good idea, but we'll see.

Panther D allowed 31.4 points per game.

The highest scoring offense in the NFL (Detroit) averaged 27.4

By telling the DC of the worst defense in the league he gets to keep his job, you have just told Bryce Young the Panthers need to be the highest scoring offense in the league next year in order to win.

How in the fug do you announce to the NFL world, "We have our QB!" one minute, and the next you announce to the NFL world, "We will keep the absolute worst defense in the history of the league together."

As a head coach and GM, keeping coordinators is actually saying, "Yep, it was good enough for us this past season."

People wanted Aaron Glenn fired his first two years but Dan stuck by his guy.

Glenn came onboard with Campbell in 2021, which was a 3-13-1 season. They've been winning since.

Comparing Evero and Glenn isn't the best example, but Glenn had way more upside.

Even if we improve talent. Evero’s defenses have been known, even in Denver, to be horrible against the run.

Im ok with this. They literally stripped the cupboard bare and then our best players on the defense got hurt early.

Last year it was his defense that was keeping us in games despite the offense. I think we need to give him another run at this.

I have seen this said many times.  Where are people getting this?  He only has 3 years of being a DC.  The one year in Denver, they were 10th in rush yards allowed and 11th in YPC.  That is a solid run defense.

Several of those players were traded or released last off-season. Please don't waste my time with semantics.

You said Evero didn't want Burns, Luvu, Chinn, and Burns. I think that's bullshit and I think you are dumber than rocks for thinking this.

That's my point. Was trying to help you out by making it about the wording. But no you are just stupid to think he didn't want those guys.

I have already gone over this. Rankings do not tell the whole tale. Yes. He defense was helped by some games he actually kept a team under 100 yards but he has 8 games where he let a team run for over 100 yards.
He had multiple back to back games of 100 yards or more. One game with over 200. Also 191, 185, 158 and 151. 5 of the 8 games the Broncos defense was absolutely horrible against the run.
2023 only 4 games of less than 100 yards. This year he had 1 with the final 6 games allows 200 yards per game.
We will see if it is the lack of talent. But last year with better talent the defense was bad against the run.

I thin kjust getting Brown back will improve the run defense by 10 spots.

Overall... I dont care so much about have a top ranked run D. As long as we are average thats good enough.

You cannot have everything.. I would rather put effort in rushing the passer and pass defense then run D.

That's a bit of some high expectations for Brown and his impact after returningfrom injury. It's pretty easy to double team one guy when you don't have to worry about the rest of the line. He's lived that for almost his entire career here. He needs his Rucker type partner in crime. A'Shawn is good but he's nearing the end of his run and it would be beneficial to have a better plan going forward.

I stated.

Several of those players he brought in, and a handful he pushed out.

We lost Luvu, Chinn, Jackson and Burns. We brought in several of his former players.

Are you really still flailing around trying to reframe what I stated again and again? I'm telling you your reframing of my statement is incorrect. In an adult world that I would be the end of it, but because I'm on the Huddle and every psycho like you is on their 20th ALT account here we go again.

I don't have to go line by line and state this player was cut, this player was traded, this player was released without being made an offer. It's a general statement about the moves in the off-season that he was a large part of that has made this defense the worst in the league. He had a direct impact on the roster and draft. How can that even be debatable with the amount of his former players we've signed and the articles written on the draft?

Quote

What do you mean pushed out? Luvu was offered a contract and he declined and went with a smaller dollar amount. How is that Evero's fault? Idk man, maybe you could say that for Chinn, maybe. It did seem he couldn't ever find a use for him. But even then, pushed out? Idk if that's the verbage I would use for any of those guys.

This is what you said. You even admit I was right.

Absolute waste of time even typing this clarification to a poo-posting ALT with zero substantive arguments, only semantical nitpicking. Blocking.

    • Well bois, we gave the Devils their due! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... The jersey boys have been trying to jack our steeze for a few years now. They've followed our blueprints and studied our tape. Every offseason, they pounce on our sloppy seconds in a Newark minute. Quick with the puck, ferocious on the forecheck and stifling team defense. Down to the colors, this is this closest we'll come to having to play ourselves in Ole Stanley's Hockey Hoedown. As the postseason began, Rod stood flexing in the gym mirror and saw this guy staring back from the void... (Shutters) When beating us at our game didn't work, Timo and the Tri-State Trash tried to tango instead. Outside of a bitchass cheapshot on Freddie, that poo didn't work either. Their goon squad was getting wrecked by our bantam weights. As much as we all wanted to see Svechy or Staal Bunyan literally break someone in half after the Great Dane went down, they didnt need to. Our munchkins were monsters! Jarvis obliterating giants at the blue line, Logan laying the Stank on dudes twice his size and Blakers blasting Timo into next season. It was beautiful to see! (Side note: Does JBlo wear lead weights under his pads? 170lbs shouldn't be able to hit that hard!) We closed it out in 5, for the gentleman's sweep. Only team in the league to win a series in each of the past 7(?) seasons! And, this was supposed to be a rebuilding year... Onto the awards: Key To The Series : 6 for 19 - .316% IT FINALLY WORKED!!! MVP : 16/180 g/s - .911 save% - 2.53 gaa Seriously, without this dude, we would've won in 3! (Trust me bro) 3rd Star : 6/94 g/s - .936 save % - 1.59 gaa The Great Dane   2nd Star : 3 g - 5 a - +1 - 20:38 toi/g - 18 hits - 3 bs - 58.1% fo 3 PP goals and the 2OT series winning goal! WOOAAAHHH NELLY!!!!   And, your 1st Star of the series : 5 g - 1 a - +3 - 16:48 toi/g - 16 hits - 1 bs - 1 tk - 50% fo Zero, I repeat, zero penalty minutes for the series! MISSSTAAAHHH SVEEECHNIKOOOV!!!!!! Onto The Next: Now, we wait for the Habs to make it a nasty 7 game slog, while we recuperate. And, hopefully, get Nikishin, and some of the other black aces some real peactice time. We are gonna need those guys at some point. Because, if you think the Devils were dirty, hoooo boy, wait till you see what's next...
    • I don’t watch college football anymore (used to be Stanford STH but meh), but my wife is Hawaiian and her favorite color is purple, so I guess I knew Tet was my new favorite player to root for when he came out in a purple suit and lei and threw up the Shaka.
