If Graham is gone, fo you take Carter?

It’s very likely that all of Will Johnson, Mason Graham, and Tetairoa McMillan will be gone.

A safety hasn’t gone in the top 10 since Jamal Adams in 2017. But if there’s a safety that deserves to go in the top 10 it’s Malaki Starks.

He graded top 10 against the run and the pass at his position and his ball skills are insane.

A ball hawking safety; not an in-the-box safety.  Great hands, but not overly aggressive given chase and definitely doesn't pop when tackling. He strikes me as corner.

If he kills it in the offseason workouts he will be.  Remember, this dude came up just a few yards short of breaking Berry Sanders record.

He won't be on many draft boards. I have 2 rbs I would take over him and I would not draft either of them higher than late 3rd.

Taking a safety in the top 10?  No way I would do that, unless he is Sean Taylor or Ed Reed which Starks isn’t.  We would be lucky if Carter lasts to #8.  There are the two Georgia edge guys to fall back on if he is gone

Has to be generational and Starks is not.  Top 10 you take players that help make (QB, WR, OT) or break (Edge, CB) games.  All other non-STs positions have to be close to, if not generational, for consideration.

Very possible the top 7 taken are the 2 QBs, Carter, Graham, TMac, Travis Hunter and Will Johnson.

And the phone's not ringing, nobody wants to trade up. So you can't trade down either.

Who you taking then?

It's got to be pearce Jr or a Georgia dawg.(both are edges and scary)

Plenty have mocked the combine, but I feel its key for this draft. I think Carter will measure small, even with all the PEDs those guys take.

I think 10 DL will be in the first 22 picks.

*But there are stud OTs still there, some team would trade up for campbell or Simmons. Banks as well, that 8th spot is looking like the best spot for a trade up for a LT. There should be heavy action here, no BS.

So take the best DLman or best offer for a OT stud.

    • The #Panthers explored the possibility of adding Jaire Alexander, but there was never an offer made, a league source told @theobserver.   https://x.com/mike_e_kaye/status/1935436577649401872?s=46
    • Yes I agree, the future RT could easily be christ. When he shocking re-signed here for the cheap, he said part of the reason was the OL coaching staff.  I've already thought too much about 2026. The RT has all the options, including resigning Motown. I was never a big fan, but he's solid and peptides and stem cells can fix a gippy knee. If he makes it though this year and wants to return, why not for 2 years 16 million?? Or like you said give the job to Christ or draft your RT...... that I feel is the best current method. With both OGs in the 20 million per cap range and Icky......ooooooooooo boy he could be the first 30 million per OLmen in NFL history. That's a huge portion of cap space for the OL, which I agree with, but in order to offset those 20 and 30 million deals... you need cheap rookie contracts. (unless Motown would take a huge pay cut and whoever the C will be).  This is the deepest OL I can recall in Panthers history.  I believe Morgan should try and trade either Kingston or Zavala.  I didn't even talk about Yosh, Tarquin, or Walton. Yosh is same age as christ and why not him as RT after good swing tackle years? Tarquin is a UDFA on the prayer program, 150,000 in guarantees and why not him in 2026? Walton seems to be a OL coach favorite, he followed the Tampa Bay staff here after 2 years there and add in one year here, he's stuck around for some reason. I think they need to spend very light on RT and Panthers have lots of options, I love it.
    • That better not be the case. They need to be ready week 1. The easiest part if their schedule is the first few fames
