What’s our plan at MLB?

Yeah I remember hearing that about him. Just wished change that way we draft. Stop taking raw projects (Trevin, XL) instead take proven players

Yeah, I still think Morgan is basically Fitterer in the draft and closer to a real GM with pro personnel evals.

I mean, last year's draft was so insanely bad.

theres really no other way to spin it

From leading up to the actual draft (telling XL that he is the pick) to brooks, to Wallace its just hard to see much light in their strategy. Hopefully Morgan has learned but I kindof doubt it.

This is a bad draft to fug up. The pool of players with first round talent is very small. It's a draft loaded with 2nd and 3rd round grade guys.

Not a ton of room for error.

I have heard of Player/coaches before.  Player/GM?

I think this is a need area, but with the DL play last season, it is hard to gauge.  Wallace is decent to good, Jewell is old and was never elite.  I like Stutsman (??) from Oklahoma.  He is third round on the sites I reference.

I met Shaq when he was a rookie and he was small--not thick.  I think his body has to be telling him it is time to leave.  He won't be worth the money he will want to return, I assume.

It's been said - Jewell & Wallace are our ILBs

Long shot Shaq returns on a cheap deal to backup (or maybe start?..but I doubt it with him being a long timer/Evero never being the guy to pick him). See us signing a new FA or drafting another one in the mid rounds for depth.

And unless we offload, Clowney & Wonnum are the OLBs (and hopefully Pearce/Green/etc via R1). DJJ will still be dicking around as well.

If we sit at 8 and take a Safety like I keep seeing on the mock simulators and then don't pick again til 57 it'll be a rough one. I know they can't force anyone to trade up but it'd be nice to pick up an extra 2nd to move back a little and try to fill a few holes on defense. We need guys everywhere on D but I'd much rather double up on D-line guys mid 1st-mid 2nd than grab a S or CB at 8

Sucks that the positions we drafted last year early on (RB and LB) are still areas of need.

What about WR? People keep saying we need to get Bryce McMillan because the Legett pick is starting to look like another bust. I'm willing to give him another year but don't sell Morgan short. His first draft sucked even more than your post suggests.

I totally agree. Meant to put WR as well but forgot. Dan Morgan’s 2024 draft is arguably the worst of any team in the NFL. It’s very frustrating seeing players who would’ve been perfect for us perform for other teams while we consistently pick duds that none of us wanted pre draft.

    • Especially with no other major sports in the area other than UNCW basketball and soccer. It's a good 2 1/2 hour drive just to catch a collegiate football game. If this new arena were built I would hope it also includes an Adult League - I would join up and time allowing would be more than happy to help coach some youth teams. 😄
    • That was real fear in his eyes when the rope was being taken. My younger days, I had my best friend that happened to be black come over all the time. I had the nicest bulldog on the planet, my friend Damon was scared to death of him. His grandmother and daddy taught him to fear all dawgs and seen the same fear in his face and voice.    I think alllll young kids should take swimming lessons and not fear the water. Very thankful my parents did this, I no longer get in the ocean since its 50% sewage. But I enjoyed all the lakes, pools, and oceans I swam in.
    • My personal opinion is the non-guaranteed contract is the main reason for NFL success. MLB and NBA players are on cruise control after their big contracts and it shows in the product.  NFL is each year you are fighting for your job. Same for the majority of the public.... You get lazy or try to coast after the 100+ million contract, your ass will be cut within 1-2 years. Then the next one will not even touch 100 million+. Besides a few NBA players like Kobe was coming for blood with a 300 million contract or 1 doll hair deal. Brandy Beal just reached a buyout where he was getting 110 million, many other cases..... I dare say his name for the hornets guy..... MLB sooo many times as well.    If the NFL starts fully guaranteeing all contracts, Id have a new hobby to fill the hours of entertainment NFL gave me.
