No teammate of steve Smith after Moose (who was here when SS was drafted) ever materialized here.  Reason?  Smitty was a dick to them.

I do think if David Gettis doesn't tear that ACL he would have been one of our major contributors for several years.

Smith seemed to respect the guys that had hustle and were late rounders. Maybe part of that is because they knew they couldn't touch him. But if you had a pedigree and didn't back it up he was definitely an asshole.

He needs to go away for a while because he's not so entertaining with knowledge of his recent transgressions.  I turn the channel and I suspect lots of folks do

I mean, he has done less than the POTUS, so...

You'd think that Smitty is saying all these guys some are complaining about as future HoFers. He gives his honest analysis and leaves room for a player to succeed or fail based upon how they develop and where and how they're developed. He's not going to be overly negative.

TMac: "good player not great."

I'm thinking he was most excited about Jayden Higgins (even though he had him at eight). He was certainly excited about Higgins' upside. He obviously likes Golden and Egbuka as well. I think he believes there are too many questions about McMillan to take him high, the biggest one the way I decided to interpret it is whether Tet has that dawg in him.

He didn't say any player is "him" or anything like that, but watch someone say Smitty had poor evaluations this time next year.

Tet will probably be a probowl receiver.  If you watch his highlights, they project well enough.  People who like blazing speed, are more likely to look down on Tet.  However, he has good speed to my eyes and can run away from folks.  He would be worth a top pick.

I like TMac but he does worry me that he could be just another big body that can't separate constantly like KNeal Harry. The same way Burden worries me that he could be another Jalen Reagor. I think Golden will be a solid WR but I think 8 is a little rich. That's why I'd take Jayden Higgins in the 2nd unless we can trade down in the 1st and get Golden then

Steve Smith is a better pussy analyst than dick.

There’s zero evidence of this either. Cheated on his wife with a 4.5. Probably just for the top. No eye for talent for men or women.

Never saw a pic of the marching band cum dumpster.  I figured she had to be bad, though.

    • I was never onboard with Morgan to begin with.  The dude always seemed a hammer short of a full tool bag, maybe too many concussions.  He was a Fitterer hold over and I thought he should have been gone when Fitts went.  He literally made it to NFL GM with no credentials to speak of other than a playing career.  Shorts stints of personnel management for the Seahawks and Bills, neither organization choosing promotion or retention.  I believe Morgan was added as a friendly face to sooth the a fanbase that was growing to hate Tepper and probably retained for the same reason.  Morgan never coached, had minimal front office experience and the GM he "assisted" was deservedly fired.  From what I can find online he received a BA in Liberal Arts from Miami so that isn't exactly a qualification either.
    • If you really want to change the identity of the culture, then your opinion may indeed be the way to go. 1) I see nothing from our drafts since 2020 to indicate that either the scouts or the GM's are shrew evaluators of college talent. 2) A new GM should be able to hire a coach since his livelihood is directly affected by how well the coach can get the team to perform on Sundays. The only time I'm ok with a GM keeping the coach that proceeded his hiring is if the new GM wants to work with the coach. Ideally, He should have final say over the coach instead of the owner. And, that coach and GM need to be in sync on how the team should be run on both sides of the ball. 3) A new coach should be able to pick his own staff. If he wants to keep a coach already on the staff that's fine. A new HC hire shouldn't be told that you have to use this guy for one of the jobs, especially a position as important OC or DC.
    • The crazy thing is some of these plays that went down to like 2 on the play clock were basic inside zone runs. That poo shouldn't take 30+ seconds to decide when you are down 24... It's not like they had to hot route multiple receivers and change blocking assignments after lining up. It's almost like Canales has somebody else's playbook and needs to flip through 10 pages to try and figure out what play he is going to run
