Your ideal season end

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

Fox fired directly after the last game, Cowher hired directly after Fox's firing, and #1 pick, oh yeah, find a way to get back the 2nd round draft choice, Hurney gave away for Edwards.

That isn't one of your selections.

This season is history. Winning one or two more games doesn't mean much in the greater scheme of things. I know 'you play to win the game'. Reality is, Fox has checked out mentally and it won't be long before the players follow suit.

The one bad part about the specter of being the worst team in football. Essentially we're giving the New England fuging Patriots a 1st round pick for Armanti Edwards.

Fug Hurney.

Go on a run, make the playoffs, beat the patriots in the Superbowl. Thats how I want the season to end.

Would you settle for beating the Jets? ;)

This would be the ideal end to this season for me, too.

I don't care about replacing the entire roster. Most of our coaches will be gone following Fox's departure. I think Fox leaves no matter what anyway, so it doesn't matter how well he does.

whats even more scarey than that is the raiders could potentially end up handing over the #1 overall pick to the pats

Don't care what our record is.

i would like

1) A QB to rise up and start looking good

2) To know who are WRs of the future are

3) To have some decent draft picks coming

4) To avoid a lockout

5) To get a sense from JR that he is ready to commit to winning

6) A shiny new coach

7) Oh and to knock some team out of the playoffs. Hopefully ATL.

Revisiting a topic we've done once before under Fox...

Which outcome would you prefer for the remainder of the Panthers season?

A) Go on a run and make it to the playoffs by the skin of our teeth

B) Make at least a somewhat respectable showing by winning a decent number of games

C) Completely tank and get the highest draft pick possible

Which outcome would I prefer?

D) Less than 100,000 posts on how much better we would have been if we had only ________________________.

It's a double-edged sword. Fox generally wins enough to keep us out of the basement, but an occasional trip to the basement can get you some decent players. Staying in the middle tends to get you good players, but not necessarily star players.

I know a lot of folks are expecting the number one pick now, but we've been in that position more than once and instead wound up with a pick in the teens.

Really if Fox can get this team and coaching staff to 8 wins I would reconsider wanting him gone. New OC you bet cha but thats one hell of a head coach to take a team like this to 8 wins.

Bad QB

Bad Oline

Bad OC

Bad WRs

and no Running game

Yea if we make it to 7 or 8 wins is a act of god.

But back on topic

A or C.

If Fox is still here then it wont matter who the OC is. the offense wont change that much..

even if Fox can win its time for a fresh start on both sides.IMO

I would like to see Williams go off individually and see what offers come in just for giggles.

I would like to see Hardy rip some heads.

I would like to see Beason back in the middle.

I would like to see Otah on the field.

I would like to see some of the craziest wide open offense ever seen in Charlotte.

I would like to see us set up early in the draft and snag Robert Quinn.

I would like to see the two new WR's show us that they are taking their chance here seriously.

I'd like to see Clausen hold a clipboard.

I would like Kasay to get double digit 50 yd.+ Fg's.

Wins and losses are irrelevant

Tanking the season for a higher draft pick, is not worth it.

I can't imagine our leaders allowing it to happen.

It would also say a lot about every player on the team.

I don't care its for a high draft pick, no coach wants a team full of losers.

I also wish people would stop the bs that fox has already checked out. There is zero evidence of the such. In fact, the evidence supports the opposite. Saying that he has checked out, doesn't make it so.

This team, especially the offense, needs to improve.

Win games..as many as possible...and go down still fighting...or ya ain't worth a damn.

    • I see they blamed Slavin for the goal like I did.
    • See this is the problem, you say "can't get off the line quick" and "can't separate quick" but in reality it's "he can get off the line better and create more separation" which are two completely different things. If he couldn't get off the line or separate, he wouldn't have put up the numbers he did and end up a Top 10 pick. But he can get better, and maybe more accurately, consistent with them both, and that will take his game to the next level.  These are things that are also much easier to improve once you get to the NFL than things like being a poor route runner or having bad hands, two of his strengths. Thinking he can't get open in the short passing game also shows you haven't watched enough tape on him, as he was used in that role so much in college with little issue getting open and making plays. And him not using his physicality as much isn't even something that hurts his game because he's so much more agile than a player of his size should be, which he used to his advantage.  Instead of throwing passes where he'd go up and box out a player like a TE or Mike Evans does, they use his athleticism and put the ball in places that only he can get to it, and he usually does (and yes, he'll still be able to do that against NFL DB's with his catch radius). But now that he's in the NFL, I'd like to see him get stronger and add that to his game because it also will help him take his game to another level. As I've said before, if he doesn't improve on those things at all, I think he's a Top 25 WR in this league, he's already that good.  But I think he'll improve on those things and be a perennial Top 10 WR and in his prime is considered and perform like Top 5 guy in some years. My expectations for him this year at 800 yards and 8 TDs (although I do think he'll get to 10 TDs) with a real chance at getting to 1,000.  But those expectations are because I think Thielen will lead the team in yards with close to 1k and XL/Coker each end up in the 500-600 range themselves, just too many mouths to feed this year for a rookie to dominate yardage, especially if we're running the ball well again. But if Thielen can't stay healthy or puts up sub 750 yards, then yea, my expectations for T-Mac likely shift to getting to 1k as a rookie.
    • Svech only 1 goal behind the guy they've pretty much already given the Conn Smythe to...
