Parity is a thing in the NFL I dont think its shocking to see bad teams become good when you plug in a few key players and decent coaching. But sustained success is harder to achieve.

Houston made a big jump year 1 with CJ and came crashing back down this past year.

They made the playoffs this past year as well

Most folks know that in close ballgames the difference comes down to one team executing on key downs and the other not. 2 years ago our defense was not good but our offense was terrible. Last year we started out terrible on both sides of the ball and the offense really gelled toward the end. Honestly there is no reason to believe our offense will regress. I think it will improve playing together and developing chemistry with each other. And the defense will be better because Brown and Brown will be a wall and shut the middle down while still collapsing the pocket on passing downs. Something that never happened last year. Pressure on the qb makes the back seven much better as they don't have to try and cover for 5 seconds on every play until someone comes open. We still  need some linebackers who can bring pressure, tackle but also cover TEs if needed. Is that too much to ask?

What I hope is that whatever position we choose, we find more dogs who like to scrap and work hard. Everybody working together without a bunch of prima donnas.

They should not.  This rebuild will require another round of free agency and a good draft in '26. Not sure why anyone would think we are on the verge of mediocrity.

Going from 5 wins to  6/7 is really unacceptable.  Especially with our schedule.  Unlike Vashti I dont think people will get fired but I do think going into 2026 the heat will be ratcheted up to about 10.  But she is correct that if we only win 6/7 people are going to question bryce, Canales, EE, Morgan etc.

I hate to think what this team looks like if we have to do another rebuild after 26.

I don't mean to come down on you individually here. But I have to say. Please for the love of anything sacred can you and others stop with this idiotic cope? The Houston Texans regardless of the struggles they dealt with in 2024 have made the playoffs and won a playoff game in back to back seasons after being one play away from the first overall pick in 2022. Our Panthers haven't made the playoffs since 2017. We have got to stop carrying water for these decision makers here in Carolina and trying to diminish other franchises. Nobody in this organization has earned even a shred of benefit of the doubt.

I don't know if playoffs was in the cards..the NFC is doodoo soo...maybe? But he for sure would have played better than BY over these 2 years.

I mean Texans also drafted will Anderson, who is a legit top tier edge. They also had a log-jam of offense talents waiting to blossom once a real QB was throwing. Plus, Texans didn't trade a kings ransom for Stroud, like a lower end #1 WR on the best contract value in the NFL.

They also had the new juice from HC, OC(rip in 25), and DC. Add in luck and bang.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
