Ugh Im not the one that should do this.

Here is the deal- Top 51 counts before the season starts. Soon after the final cut and teams get ready for week one- All 16 players on PS, all players on IR, and the 53 count against the cap. Unless the rule changed..

Panthers gave Jacolby George 215,000 guaranteed. The salary for PS during the year is same number. So Panthers guaranteed him a spot on the PS for the year. *If he gets cut and claimed/signed on another, that 215,000 would be dead cap. It's sorta of loop hole, provided he remains on team. I believe the PS guarantee limit is 365,000(??) to prevent teams from signing 16 to full deals.

The bottom line is that $215k is nothing when it comes to cap impact either way.

Yea, too many, but some maybe try-out guys. I always thought its better to leave 1-2 spots open on the 90, for claims or try-out stud sign room.

I hate this part of the NFL meat grinder, players that recently got signed are going to get cut for this growing UDFA pool.

Some of these have to be bogus.  I'm sure the agents have had contact with the Panthers, but as far as official invites, I wouldn't think it is that high.

I'd agree with that. I like this new aggressive UDFA model. It had a great start last year.

Agents or player hate to admit its for a "try-out", sounds much better to say you signed on the roster... You just signed a injury wavier......

The truth will show soon enough, watch on the official panther website about what's real.

I mean there’s a strong chance we really wanted both with the intention to only keep 1 and had intel that JHJ would get drafted while Jacolby wouldn’t. 200k is nothing and so is a 6th round pick. Either make the final roster, you did great.

Yeah. Whoever does better at returning punts between Jacolby and Jimmy will make the roster and Trevor most likely our new kick returner.

There comes a point in the draft where honestly you're better off going undrafted at that point and having an opportunity to better chart your own course.

son of a moose!  In my mock I was taking him late.  Welcome Muhammed III  !  almost started a new thread but I'll put it here

Little "Moose," a Charlotte, N.C. native, played at Texas A&M University from 2020 to 2024. The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder, over those five seasons, amassed 81 receptions for 1,163 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Muhammad also served as a punt returner for the Aggies, fielding 27 total attempts for a combined 194 yards (7.2 yards per return).

I'm not sure when they have to be down to 90 but I assume 5 or 6 maybe are going to be cut before camp even gets here. I assume these invites do not count at the moment but will if they are signed.

    • 1. Charlotte has been very good to Smitty and his comment is out of line.  2. XL is Smitty, just 180 degrees out of phase. He is the quintessential anti-Smith. Give 89 the ball and he will win a game for you. His high gear was terrifying and he was fearless. He was the bully on every snap he ever played here.  XL is Mr alligator arms who lives in fear of contact. He gets boxed out by guys he outweighs by 40 pounds and looks generally clueless.  Why he has chosen to defend someone he would have BBQ’ed as a teammate stumps me.
    • Fake outrage from an entertainer... And yes he would have absolutely chewed him out on the field for that kind play.
    • If we were smart and didn't draft Bryce until we had a better oline and wr's, he would have done much better. However, he would still have been a lower end qb with serious limitations and that would eventually have come out.  I feel like we have a fairly decent offense in place for a new qb now, but probably face a lot of change at GM, DC, and HC.  I feel like Morgan and Evero need to go at the end of the year so the new GM can bring in his own scouts and create a plan for the future (i.e., fire Canales and do not pick up BY's fifth year option at the end of '26).
