The lotto is 100% rigged.  The reason you know it is....because televising a real Powerball-style lotto pull with celebrities/players/fans and all the bells and whistles would be easy eyeballs and money for the league to put on for show one evening.

but they can't do that but they got to be able to rig it up to suit the league's needs each year.

Yeah NBA could do the result live and on screen if they wanted to but they'd rather have guys go where they want

Seen a lot of calls for that, and it makes perfect sense.

But I think everybody knows the NBA will never do it, and they know why.

The lottery has been tampered with since the very first one in 85 when the Knicks got Ewing.  It’s always been this way

100% fact. people forget Stern was a NYer.

Theres been what 10 picks since that were gifted to teams?

Even Lecommie said he believe the lotto was rigged when the Cavs just happened to get the #1 pick for the local hero. They also got the #1 Kyrie Evring when Lecommie leftd for miami. I bet that's when he started the Diddy parties too...

Zion

Timmy Duncan

AD

Rose to bulls

Victor Wembanyama

Cleveland got 2 more #1 overall AFTER Erving fixing the lebron BS.

Yao Ming got to pick his sity...

That's all that I remember, even one is total joke,

https://www.si.com/nba/bill-simmons-accurately-predicted-mavericks-would-win-nba-lottery-back-in-march

Just more or less WWE, but at least WWE refs are not criminals. Players bet and shaved points, Im 100% sure of, especially if Michael Jordan did for years....

I am shocked I lasted until Larry brown with the bobcats before I quit being a fan. Any NBA new I see is not by my will/want to follow.

Total joke, I hate the government more than NBA, but they should expose the fraud that league is so it can dissolves and a new better league can start. Maybe then the players will play in all the games like years ago......I mean LOLLOLOLOL you can not play back-2-back games when a breath of air is a fool?? Total joke, I hope the whole league folds. frauds!!

I can not respect any owner that allows this.

The NBA is so laughably against any level of parity between big market teams and small market teams it is absurd beyond rationalization. The only time the league has thrown a small market team a bone in many years is when they gave the Pelicans the first overall pick to select Anthony Davis and that is because the league owned the team at the time! And even then that was over Charlotte who had the worst single season win percentage in league history. Then the league turned around and gave the same franchise another first overall pick to select Zion Williamson only 7 years later. Meanwhile the Hornets haven't had a first overall pick in 34 years.

Viewership has already been down. It's certainly not going to go in the other direction once the last few old school stars retire. The newer generations of stars can barely play half a season in some instances so they certainly aren't going to carry the league. And the small market teams that the NBA has poo on for years will eventually struggle to fill seats. Then you get to the product itself with all the flopping and players making hundreds of millions of dollars in earnings complaining about fans. The writing is on the wall. They're only speeding up the inevitable. Let it all come falling down.

The state of the game is just terrible.  The players phone it in all season long.  You don't really see that in any of the other major sports.  Baseball has twice the games and Aaron Judge is still sweating it out every day trying to break batting records and win games.

I would generally disagree. You see a lot more load management than previously but that is because being healthy in the playoffs is such a key factor. Different philosophies in that regard than previous generations.

Baseball really doesn't matter until at least halfway through the season. I am not gonna say they don't play hard but the physical demands are infinitesimal in the MLB in comparison to basically any other major pro sport.

People dislike all the shooting these days but that's a direct correlation with how much the overall skill level of the average NBA player has drastically risen over the past 15ish years. There are other aggravating factors, certainly, but that is the biggest one in terms of playing style differences. So many of the guys from the 80's and 90's wouldn't even be able to play in the modern NBA at all.

The biggest problem the NBA has with the American market(they are the only US sport that has any real international appeal or interest, minus the NHL) is that they are so steadily corrupt and fix the systems against the small market teams. Well, you eventually lose a big chunk of the league viewership/potential viewership in the process. Take the very obviously fixed NBA draft lotteries.

Superstar and upper tier star players rarely want to play for small market teams, nor can they usually afford to pay them. So how do you expect them to possibly compete in that environment?

Only one of the major sports leagues felt the need to introduce a mid-season tournament to try and make the players care.  And what happens?  They have special courts and uniforms and they sit stars because they don't care to win the stupid tournament.  League's a complete mess right now.  The numbers speak for themselves.
