I've also seen agents saying certain players don't want to come to / be drafted by Charlotte as they don't want to play with Ball.

Honestly they won’t have to play with him much he only suits up for 10-20 games a year

I have been watching these guys for a while now and I like Kon, VJ and also Tre for that matter.  But I put on Ace Bailey it’s a different level.  That dude can easily be the best player out of this draft.  His upside is ridiculous.  His shot making at that size is nuts.  Put him at the 2 or 3 and he will have growing pains but whatever.  I think he can be great and it won’t take long.

ESPN latest mock has Hornets passing up on Ace Bailey to take Kon, and we’d be just dumb enough to do that.

We need to trade Lamelo. He is toxic and hardly ever plays. Also I wouldn't even consider him a super star. Maybe starish but not all that imo.

With rumors swirling that multiple lottery picks refuse to workout for the Hornets and one directly stated he doesn't want to play with LaMelo Ball it's hard out here to be a damn Hornets fan. But at the end of the day even though this franchise has plenty of blame LaMelo Ball himself has been immature time and time again and seemingly spends more time getting terrible tattoos than honing his craft that actually pays him hundreds of millions of dollars.

If they could get a solid trade for him I’d do it but it’s the Hornets so that ain’t happening

I’m not understanding this poo about them not wanting to play with Melo.  He loves passing.  To me, it says more about the lack of maturity, character, and winning mindset of the draft prospects refusing to play with him than it says anything about Melo.  Melo is a damn good player.  Unless I’m missing something, I suspect it’s because these guys want to be the alpha dog coming in and don’t want anyone else that they perceive would overshadow them.  poo is weak.

I would bet it has more to do with our dumpster fire franchise. We do not develop talent.

It's a combination of factors. I think the biggest being the perception of our franchise as a whole. And while I do think there is an entitlement attitude with some of the newer generations of players nowadays I can't really blame any of them for not wanting to come in just to play second fiddle to an albeit clearly talented player in LaMelo Ball but also at the same time let's just put all our cards on the table here he is also extremely hot and cold and lackluster at best on the defensive end. And that's when he's actually available to play which isn't often anymore. He's somehow averaged less playing time than even Gordon Hayward the last few years. While I can appreciate your stance and not wanting to give up on him. We're heading into year 6 broski. Enough is enough.

Yeah, the injuries are disappointing.  And it’s crazy we’re already in year 6, but I feel like when he’s healthy, he’s a top-tier player.  He is a star.

That being said, if we could get a haul for him, I would consider it.  I actually would be very interested if to see if we could get Jalen Green, as it’s rumored the Suns are looking to move him somewhere else.  I also think that would solve PHX’s PG problem.  But unless it’s something like that, I believe in Melo, he just has to stay healthy.

Reports now are saying Hornets are throwing out a ton of smokescreen. I knew something was off when a reporter said Tre Johnson  name listed with others not working out. The video of him in hornets gear was before all that was said and he was in Charlotte.  No telling what they are planning to do but they are the most confusing team  in the lottery  to predict rn.

    • Would Morgan or Beason have been HOFers' if injuries hadn't derailed their careers?  I was not a close watcher of the game when Morgan was in his prime but I thought Beason had a few seasons at close to Lukes' level of play.
    • Franchise QBs feast when things are rolling and the tide that raises boats when things are going sideways.  Bryce isn't that. He's a complimentary player, that's it.  When the defense and STs are on point, he plays loose and it shows.  When we are in a dog fight and things haven't gone our way, he struggles.  It's that simple. He's not a horrible QB, but he's not top tier either.  So the question begs, is this worthy of a second contract?  The answer should be no.  It definitely is my answer. Bryce will never be a QB that can produce wins largely on his arm.  That's a FRANCHISE QB, any other QB is simply a placeholder at the starter's position until that guy can be found.   At some point the excuses of lack of weapons will be a straw man.  Heck, it's nearly there now.  I mean if he doesn't look even better than last year will we blame it on the TE position?  'Well if Bryce only had a player like Kelce, Kittle or Gronk on this team...'  Are we really going to do that?
    • When I arrived at college, I was 18, not too much younger than some of these draft picks.  It was not a huge school, but there were guys on the team who were 21, 22, 23....playing ahead of me.  I was seventh on the depth chart.  Those guys have been through a few seasons, were stronger, more knowledgeable.  I was a better raw player than some of them, but those other factors matter.  As I grew stronger, more familiar with the playbook, and learned what it was like to play in college, I gradually improved and with that, I rose up the depth chart.  It took most of my freshman year for the light to come on.  Had the coach thrown me into the starting lineup day 1, I would have probably failed.    And that was college.  So I agree with you based on my experience on a much lower level.  Frankly, I think that is why so many kids drafted to fill huge gaps bust.  The teams are desperate.  Anyone who looks to fill vacancies in the starting lineup through the draft is desperate.  You draft depth to develop.  For this reason, I say, "Let Walker start for a while."  Maybe Brazzell can be our WR 4.  Throw Hunter into a rotation and ask him to do one or two things.  Freeling needs some strength and he needs to work on run blocking.
