You would. But this regime has bent over backwards to surround our #1 pick with top end talent after early on bloviating about not needing to invest so much around him because he's that good. So there's only so much to go around. Especially when we are 4th in OL spending.

I get it but I dont think there is an excuse for it to be absolute poo. Weakened maybe. But not this bad.

Our ILB position is dog poo. You would think that would be a strength with Morgan at GM.

Not necessarily, if anything, I think there is an argument to be made that it's the least important position in football, so I don't take issue with them leaving it for last during this re-build.

Honestly the only position I think you could argue is less important to have studs is RB.

Today's NFL is about the passing game.  So you need the QB and WRs, as well as the OL to protect and give time for your passing game.  While the opposite is true on defense, that you need the pass rush and secondary to be your strongest units to defend against the pass.

There is a reason you don't see MLB's get drafted early in the 1st Round unless they're a true generational talent, like a Kuechly.

Terrible news all around. Concussion demon takes another panther- Luke, oher, and now jewell. Panthers seemed to want to re-do the contract and Jewell didn't want too, that's a sign that he's retired for good.

I've already arm-chair GM this, its bad. Just nothing on the market, not even a Cloweny-like cut waiting for the right team.

Trade wise, another big bad. Jags may have two- former 1st round Lloyd .

Member the CJ Henderson trade, Panthers sent a 3rd- Chad Muma was used on that pick. He's done near nothing, but listed as LB and  he's in the last year of deal. Jags drafted two MLBs this yr.

Drew Sanders from broncos former 3rd coming off a torn ach......ugh he's young!

Channing Tindall of the phins, another 3rd rounder in the final year without doing much..

Brian Asamoah of the Viking, 3rd rounder in the final year without doing much.......

Cuts seemed to be the best path, by far. I don't know if Dan should trade swap 6th for one of those 3rd round duds and a 7th.

Panthers are going to need a huge surprise from Bam Martin, windom(statered some last yr), or the other UDFA Nomura.

That's the best hope right now, someone on the current roster shows up and shocks everyone while they take over a starting MLB job.

Kyzir White is available

I overlooked him, yea this guy has produced every stop he's been at for the last few years. 29 years old, unlike the 33-34 names unsigned.

Anyone have his PFF coverage grade??

Pro Football Focus (PFF) also gave him a 48.8 overall grade for the season, placing him 156th out of 189 qualified linebackers......

sounds like a panther to me!!111!!

still like to see his coverage grade..........I hope there's a sleeper LB already on the roster...

    • I didn’t necessarily think he was gonna get cut but I did think Rozeboom was viewed as an upgrade/replacement. I suspect the FO was concerned about the lengthy concussion protocol and wanted to mitigate this.
    • I'll add one more thought for you Icege  What could make me change my outlook? Think that will come down to the Panthers showing me something in preseason.  Not wins.  Not stats.  But I have long been a believer preseason can show you things about certain players, the team, etc (dates back to Matt Rhule era) and IMO has applied ever since.    Do they actually rep Bryce Young and not try to hide him this year? I feel that applied the past 2 seasons and drastically hurt him going into both seasons (that's on staff).  The young Cam Newton way was the way.  Take lumps in preseason.  Shake the rust off.  Get used to game speed again.  Not using the start of the actual season for your very young QB to find a groove.   They haven't repped him or rep him less than stud QBs.  I don't think either preseason the team was showing confidence in reality (only word) of what they had going into either of the last 2 seasons.    also, we need our young WRs doing the same.  They need the same reps.  Preseason games don't matter.  But they do.  They are real NFL reps vs people you don't see every day in real game environments.  They need lots of balls.  XL and Saunders combined for 2 catches all last preseason (XL at 0).    I get injury concerns and being overly cautious was part of that.  But those dudes still played.  Feel the staff did a poor job of working up our young guys in those moments leading into the season.  Get them catches.  Get them work.   If BY, XL, Tmac, Saunders are out there all preseason putting in real work going into this season and showing some confidence?   The players on O that will matter are?  I might change my view.  If it's just a bunch of not seeing Bryce, not seeing Tmac, not seeing XL, not seeing Saunders, etc.....and being told but it's totally going to be great week 1? Meh.
    • did they release a practice schedule for training camp? days and times?  can't find one on the site
