Both of the high profile games today were completely dominated by defense. 14-7 and 17-10. And those games were supposed to feature three '26 1st round QBs including the slam dunk #1 overall pick.

Not uncommon for week 1 games. Especially against good defenses. It’s why I prefer my team play these small schools week 1 if they are going to play them. Gives the offense time to get calibrated.

Yea, offenses usually take time to get in sync vs. the organized chaos that is defense 😛

Was trying to remember where this came from and then it hit me... buddy of mine that was recruited to play LT for a D1 school (he quickly realized he did not want to do that grind and ended up grinding to be a pharmacist instead). He was telling me how it was insane to have assignments and then these pitbulls in front of you on the DL are literally hopping and rolling over one another to change where they're lined up.

Dudes in the trenches are built different... not quite as crazy as the animals that love special teams, those dudes are crazy crazy 😂

Well, Clemson just couldn’t afford to lose their #1 WR that early in the game.

overall, thoughts are generally the same.  This season was going to come down to two things….can they run the ball and stop the run.  I thought the D was actually okay enough.

Cade going to catch the heat but….  It’s the run game.  Lead RB had 5 carries (9 RB carries overall) in a game that was tied 10-10 in the 4th.    Cade ain’t that good enough to carry a game like that and be out in that spot.

still think they will figure out the run but that was the worst part of a tough week 1 matchup.  Zero time to figure that weakness out

Clemson can afford that loss.  It’s a an ACC championship world for the ACC primarily

Yep. Way too early to evaluate anybody at this point, especially quarterbacks.

I agree you don’t who is what this early… and while I don’t think he will be the best college quarterback….Sellars is really the only one as you look to the next draft who I think really has the tools that make you think be might be special at the next level as of right now.

Agree with Allar looking like he has it all. But every time I saw him play last year it felt as if something was missing. Coming back for one more year was a good choice. Will be interesting to see if he takes the next step this year.

(AP) — It had been a while since the Carolina Hurricanes had finished practice, with players coming and going from the locker room. Yet Logan Stankoven was still on the ice, leaving a crowd of reporters patiently waiting at his locker. Such is the dynamic for the 23-year-old as the Eastern Conference's top seed heads into Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs to face the Philadelphia Flyers. Stankoven has been rolling at nearly a point-per-game pace going back to mid-March, including scoring in every game of Carolina's first-round sweep of Ottawa. Beyond the immediacy of that spotlight, though, is the other piece of Stankoven's story: the Hurricanes are betting he can keep growing into the role as second-line center, coming after spending multiple seasons searching for an answer there.
