For this year? Nothing.

Onto the 2026 draft if it plays out like this.

Agree

he can either play or he cant and cant afford a slow start anymore either   It is tome to fish or cut bait

…and what is more troublesome, to me,…cant continuously game plan around his shortcomings

And he definitely has them

i hope he performs for the benefit if all but if he is mediocre again, change is needed

All we have to hang our hats on right now is how we supposedly looked in joint practice and even then our head coach Dave Canales himself expressed concern about conditioning.

If you want to say it's a matter of opinion that's fine. But there is enough information to form a conclusion that this team continually looks mediocre or awful in preseason and then looks awful to start the regular season. And that is regardless of who the head coach is. I certainly strongly hope that they flip a switch and suddenly become a competent team in Jacksonville and Arizona. But I wouldn't bet anything of value on that.

You got a whole upcoming season to analyze. Let’s wait for that. No sense doing it now. A lot of people here are just complaining to complain and I understand that is a part of fandom, but annoying.

Hypothetically, if Young shats the bed again, what are the options? Seems to me like we have zero options.  Dalton is washed up and after him, really no one is a NFL caliber QB. The QB room is empty and putting all our chips on Young may become a disaster.

I don't believe he can ever carry the team on his own. God forbid if OLine starters go down. A real concern going into 2025.

I'm willing to give him this year.  If he crashes, then regrouping is needed.

It's good that there are some people out here with basic sense. Unfortunately this is very likely going to be a frequently revisited conversation on the huddle as the season progresses.

I feel like they should leave Bryce out there all year good or bad. That way we have our answer one way or the other about him. If he's bad, we can pick his replacement high and try again

I don’t think we are going to draft another one. Everyone has rookie QB fatigue, Morgan will probably go after whoever the top guy is in the market.

I think that depends more on how high our pick is. If we have the 1st, 2nd or even 3rd pick i think we are drafting a QB rather than shopping FA market for a QB1. Curious if we’d be reluctant to start a rookie QB week 1 though.

It depends on what version of bad we are getting. Can't have the locker room tearing apart over it.

He would be a fool not to draft one.   This should be a good class and it restarts his clock.  Plus what vet free agent do you think is going to move the needle?

I think if Bryce stumbles this year they clear out the qb room and let DC and Dan completely start over.  Thus starting their clocks within the org.

I guess the big question is, what is their threshold or expectations that they have to see from BY to commit to him moving forward?   And is that in the form of an ext or simply picking up his 5th?

Morgan at this point is just an extension of Tepper. I get the sense the only way they move on from Bryce is if he looks horrific across the bulk of the season and forces their hand. They are dug in on justifying the pick and the trade. They've done everything possible to telegraph that to anyone observing. If they do move on though we should expect a seeking instant results splash type move. That fits the MO so far. That could very well be an FA or a trade. And if we're being honest if all that happened maybe it would be for the best because it would truly drive him how inept this franchise is at developing a young QB across multiple coaching staffs. And the fact is they hired Canales to be a QB whisperer and so far we haven't seen it.

Agreed if Bryce struggles again you let DC draft his QB. There should be several options in this class.

I think it depends where they pick and how well the entire team performs. If the team as a whole looks decent they are more likely to go the veteran QB route. Taking a QB in the first round doesn’t always guarantee more time, ask Frank Reich.

There is always an average or above QB floating around each year. If they can get Arch Manning or something than sure.

You can’t always go off that. The list usually changes as the season plays out because teams have a younger guy they want to invest in and not pay the veteran or you have dipshit owners like Jerry Jones that are unpredictable. Similar to what happened with Cousins, Geno, Alex Smith, etc.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Prescott, Cousins, Murray, or Purdy was available this year.

    • Playing around with mock draft simulator this is probably my favorite one yet All the Super tantalizing potentials were off the board at 19. Proctor was there but I really question if he can hold up at OT in the NFL at his size. I think speed rushers might put him in a blender. I was definitely willing to move down to pickup mire capital. There's an obvious focus on the trenches in this draft. If you can own the LOS you can win a lot of games. Hell, the Seahawks just won a SB doing just that. Iheanachor oozes potential. He has all the physical tools to end up being the beat OT in this class but he's pretty raw having not been playing football long. Well worth it with the first pick in the 2nd. Christen Miller is listed as a DT here but he'd play DE in our defense. Not a lot of people are talking about it focusing on LB instead but our DEs suck too. Lawson should be a day one starter at MLB. His NFL ceiling might be more good than great but that's fine. He's smart, he's capable, and he was the QB in that Bama defense. That's what we need. If you want to runaway 3-4 defense, you need a dog at NT. We don't have one. Orange can be that. He's not gonna pile up stats on his own but that's not the point of a NT. The point of a NT is to make everyone else's job easier.  Slaughter is a potential starting center. Maybe not as a rookie but he could potentially be the long-term answer. I'm never going to give up on my dream of the Panthers having a true sideline to sideline ball hawking FS. Safety wasn't high on my list but Bud Clark was too tempting to pass up. At the very least he's a guy who should earn a role on 3rd and long obvious passing down type situations.  Kevin Coleman is exactly the type of slot WR type we need working the underneath and muddle with T-Mac and Coker on the outside.  TJ Hall is just a dog and he's experienced playing outside and at nickel. He can cover and he's not afraid to step up against the run. He should be able to earn a roster spot as he hopefully develops as an NFL player. Nwaiwu is another development type pick with the advantage of having experience playing both LG and RG in college. At this point in the draft you're likely looking at guys projected as career backups and the more versatile you are as a backup the more roster value you have. I packaged two late rounders together to move io to secure Allar who has all the physical tools you want in a QB and has largely been forgotten since he missed a lot of games down the stretch this year. If he didn't he'd likely be a mid-round pick. He might still end up being a mid-round pick. If I could get him as a developmental guy in the 6th I'm doing that all day.
    • Honestly thought Ickey was fairlt average. That's just based on the eye test. I haven't seen any grades or anything to base that on. Usually when the QB was pressured, it seemed like it was coming from the LT or RG.
    • Its actually easier than the one we played this season of you compared 2025 win pct.of opponents.
