Yeah but you know if you are a borderline player the margins are razor thin. Getting a boneheaded penalty like that is exactly how you get walking papers in that position.

Yup.  No excuses---he probably made a rather tough decision easy.

Can’t help but laugh at the people here who thought Howell was a legit NFL QB because of a few decent outings in Washington. Dude sucks ass

Yeah, his fanbois were certainly delusional.

Still, I thought he was going to be at least a half decent backup QB. Doesn't seem likely now.

Maybe the most ridiculous pro bowl selection of all time?

The guy started 4 games (played in 6), went 2-2 as a starter, and had 658 yards passing, 2 TDs, and 3INTs, with 137 yards and 1 TD rushing.

Honestly, how did he make the pro bowl?

No. I think I’d prefer Perkins over Huntley.

This is where the Huddle gets delusional simping over a PS/CFL player.

Texans gotta replace Mills to shore up that QB room. What will they do if Stroud goes down? 😱

Mills actually has had pretty similar results to Bryce overall. Take that for whatever it's worth.

It was mostly just the UNC fanboy contingent.

Yeah, the college homers are pretty insufferable across the board. That's one thing I notice with the non-college sports areas of the country that is really, really nice. That sort of homerism doesn't bleed into the pro fan ranks nearly as much. It's refreshing.

IDGAF where you went to college, if you are great, great. If you suck, you suck.

I will never forget being in Columbia, SC at a sports bar and basically the Panthers game being relegated to only one TV because all the rest of them were showing the Cleveland fuging Browns and their 19th string QB who was from the Cocks. About 80% of the people were there to watching this inconsequential bum in a game of zeo importance instead of the suppsed "One Team, Two States."

That and several other similar instances showed me that the Panthers never have and never will be a SC representing team.

    • I assume you are quoting my still. If so, I don't know what your argument is since mine was simply showing a play where Bryce scored a TD against the Rams in the playoffs where another poster used a similar still of Herbert's line to defend his poor performance last night. Like I said, Herbert is a better QB but Bryce wins the game last night for the Chargers. It simply is something he does better than Herbert and would play to his strengths. Someone even said earlier Chargers only win 1 or 2 games this year if Bryce was their QB which is so absurdly laughable it wasn't even worth trying to address. I mean this thread is literally called "Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panther's History" so I understand there is no objective arguments to be had here but I found that amusing.
    • I think his knee would make a good reason to switch to guard IF he returns.  Half don't.  Half of those don't last too long.  The strain on a knee (320lb man) vs speed rushers is more substantial.  So I would keep him if I could on a small contract (he will make $17.5 in 2026 fully guaranteed) and think of him as a possible guard for the post Lewis/Hunt era.  Knee injuries in big men are not invitations to invest in them.
    • I'd give anything to go back to a 4-3 but we are so removed from having the pieces for that. All because Tepper wanted to force this 3-4 on all our coaches.
