Mills actually has had pretty similar results to Bryce overall.

How can Houston be going into the season with that being the state of their QB room? Without an elite QB2 their Superb Owl chances are shot. 🙃

Lots of names being added to the cuts. Some names that pop to me for one reason or another (not that the Panthers should sign them, just that they stood out to me)...

  • QB Tyler Huntley (CLE)
  • QB Adrian Martinez (NYJ)
  • QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson (PHI)
  • RB Ameer Abdullah (SF)
  • WR Zach Pascal (NYG)
  • WR Equanimeous St. Brown (SF)
  • TE Matt Sokol (BUF)
  • TE Jaheim Bell (NE)
  • TE Tre' McKitty (HOU)
  • C Jim Morrissey (NYG)
  • DL Morgan Fox (ATL)
  • ILB Khaleke Hudson (TEN)
  • OLB Kenny Willekes (PIT)
  • OLB Cam Gill (MIN)
  • CB Zy Alexander (BUF)
  • CB O'Dell Fortune (NYG)
  • CB Dicaprio Bootle (DET)
  • CB Lamar Jackson (ATL)
  • S K'Von Wallace (NYG)
  • S Shiloh Sanders (TB)
  • DB Lewis Cline (PHI)
  • DB Major Burns (CHI)
  • DB Josh Thompson (ATL)
  • K Caden Davis (PIT)

A few former Panthers' on that list (Fox, Hudson, Gill, Bootle, Jackson).

I know. The amount of angst over Dalton and pining after these absolute unholy bums is fuging comical.

We have without question one of the worst QB rooms in the league and your key concern is people having the audacity to be talking about it lol.

Yeah, the college homers are pretty insufferable across the board. That's one thing I notice with the non-college sports areas of the country that is really, really nice. That sort of homerism doesn't bleed into the pro fan ranks nearly as much. It's refreshing.

IDGAF where you went to college, if you are great, great. If you suck, you suck.

I will never forget being in Columbia, SC at a sports bar and basically the Panthers game being relegated to only one TV because all the rest of them were showing the Cleveland fuging Browns and their 19th string QB who was from the Cocks. About 80% of the people were there to watching this inconsequential bum in a game of zeo importance instead of the suppsed "One Team, Two States."

That and several other similar instances showed me that the Panthers never have and never will be a SC representing team.

Exactly. SC doesn't give one fug about the Panthers. Signing Renfrow finally shut them up but the Klepmson homers incessantly whining about the Panthers never drafting/signing their players was insufferable.

SC actually did give a fug at one point, but as a subset of the fan base, have been getting sent to the kids table for years. Once Wofford got the axe, it all but sealed the deal.  Only a few die hard fans still dot the state, but we are a dying breed and going extinct rapidly.  I used to tailgate with groups of folks that drove up from SC EVERY home game.  Back in the day, the amount of Panthers flags on cars going up I-85 was abundant.  You got to think of the time, money and commitment compared to Metro Charlotte folks.  Extra gas money, extra food, leaving the house extra early for the extra long drive.  Just to get sh1t on?  Any wonder why SC folks are ditching this organization with the lack of care shown to this state along with an abysmal product on the field?

Ah, DTR, the legendary Browns benchwarmer some huddlers were pining for before Shedeur Sanders took his place.

Some of them will come back if the team will ever win again. Big if, though.

We really need to figure something out at CB. Horn was healthy last year but had a history of going down.

We are one injury away from depending on Chau Smith-Wade and Shamar Bartholomew on one side of the field.

Thornton's value is tremendous.  If he had not stepped up....

I see him (maybe not right away) as the third CB since Smith Wade is the nickel.  I think Bartholomew had a terrible camp--not sure where Evans stands. Re-signing Jackson was huge too.

I would be fine with a Troy Hill type veteran just to have as depth behind Horn, Jackson, Smith-Wade and Thornton.

FYI their backup QB Davis Mills has a playoff win. That's more than our entire QB room. But go off.

    • Oddly feeling really good about tonight. fug the heat
    • Here are my takeaways from the conference (IMO): - Is Dan against taking a WR 3 years in a row? No. Would that be his preference? Also, no. Not by a long shot.  - I think draft gurus are wrong. Tight end is not an early priority. They like the guys in the building enough to see them develop, but a later round guy is being looked at (just seemed like he was able to label a couple of guys "talented", but stopped short of suggesting the class is good at the top. Seemed quick to talk about the depth of the class) - If we are taking a DL, it will be in the top 2 rounds. They fall off a cliff at some point soon after. - They are targeting guys in each round. I think we are more likely to move up than down in this draft to prevent missing out on a guy. He doesn't want to give up a lot though, man loves his draft picks. - DBs are a priority. We want to come away with a safety and a nickel. Maybe even a safety that can play nickel. Thieneman sounds more and more like a real possibility, if he is there. We are taking a safety in the first 2 rounds, if I had to put money on it. - Age matters more for 1st round picks, probably (Mesidor), but not for after that (Stukes). - They have a guy or two that they want in the 1st round, but crazy things DO happen in the draft, and they may shift gears and take a different guy if someone falls that they didn't expect to be there.  - Character matters. A LOT. If a guy has character concerns of any kind, you can be pretty confident they aren't on our board. They may bring in a guy or two for a visit to gauge the validity/severity of the concern though.
