People see what they want.  I have also stated since the moment we drafted Bryce….a badly owned team was screwing HIM over by setting him up to fail by coach/scheme design.   Core criticism isn’t actually Bryce…it’s Carolina/front office. 

I could see Bryce being good.  I could see Canales being good.  But I don’t see them as a pairing.  Football is about fit. 

Board is doing what the board does.  People were idiots who dared question the All Star staff.  People raged when Fitterer was criticized.  They raged when Rhule was criticized.   Until they didn’t.

Lots of promising signs from the back half of Bryce's year, and plenty of reasons for excitement... But confidence that he's already arrived seems massively overblown.  We've all seen players go on tears for a handful of games.  Bryce's tear was good relative to his peers at the time but it was only as notable as we made it because of how putrid he'd been prior to it. It isn't being a negative nancy to point out offensive limitations we had even during that stretch nor to express this is likely his last chance with the Panthers to prove himself (barring injury)

Either way, I'm rooting for him.

I read this forum daily and pretty much every thread. I can’t recall a single poster making this assertion. You guys are wailing woe against a straw man.

The reality is many are hopeful that post-week 8 of last year is a launching point and  a significant vocal minority remain skeptical. The points on all sides have been beaten to death and most are just eager to see how it plays out. 

No one’s throwing a parade. They’re just out here in lawn chairs waiting for things to start. Nonetheless, some of you guys seem intent on pissing on everyone anyway.

Even with the progress last year we had the 30th passing offense and the 32nd passing offense before that.

We're hopeful. That's about the best anyone can say.

To be fair I do recall us running the ball a lot so it’s hard to get those numbers up.

Just for clarification purposes in 2024 we were 18th in rushing ypg and in 2023 we were 20th. We're not exactly lighting the league up regardless.

My understanding is Canales wants to further solidify the run game this upcoming season which is a valid path. But we've still gotta get the passing output up. And realistically with our defense still very much in the rebuilding stages it's fair to ask how often we will be in a position from a clock standpoint where we can just keep running the ball at will.

In 2024 the Panthers only had the 25th highest run ratio.  We were very pass heavy when we ran our O. 

Biggest issue is we were SUPER inefficient on offense last year.  We ran the fewest offensive plays.  Horrible on 3rd down. 28th pass completion %.  Bryce lead the league in bad pass %.  Hard to get those numbers up when you are that inefficient overall as an O.

Frank? When he came back his targets were XL, Coker, Moore, Tremble, Mingo and Jatavion Sanders. His major upgrade was Thielen when they played KC in his 4th game back. No knock on any of them. They were all great as role players, with potential for the young guys to be good eventually. But last year they all would have been the 3rd or 4th options on most every other team in the NFL.

Yes, he’s 2-3 bad games away from losing what he gained from last year. And he wasn’t playing like an all-pro then either, he was just not being a dumpster fire.

Honestly I am past the point of hearing complaints about the pieces around him. We have one of the four most expensive OL's in the entire league. We've drafted back to back first round WR's including one 8th overall for the first time in 30 years. It is not completely ideal or perfect. But nothing is or ever will be here. Just go out there and do the damn thing and whatever happens is what happens. If he struggles we draft another QB and let them duke it out in camp next year.
