The Panthers’ Bryce Young Problem is Getting Old

Furthermore it needs to be explicitly stated that if we are going to expect perfection from every single pass catcher on this roster at all times then why are we not also asking why for three years in a row now Bryce Young one of the smallest lightest starting QB's in the league begins the regular season looking exactly the same as if he has made absolutely no attempt to even enter the weight room.

He doesn't really have the frame to add weight though. He is what he is and that's a 5-10/5-11 QB that weighs somewhere between 175-185.

After watching Cam Newton put this team on his shoulders and will us to success, it sickens me to watch this soft, entitled, tiny, sensitive simp try to QB this team.

I am with you… 1000 percent

i hoped for the best this year though I knew better..,for the team and mostly for the fans

he promptly poo on that and quickly.  That is why his staring alone at the video board pissed me off.  He hasn’t  ‘arrived’. He should have been talking to his team or coaches

instead, mindless standing there as if he is in his living room watching YouTube

the very next play, interception

a nfl team cannot afford to start 0 to 4 in the first qtr. right now the only win I see is the saints

I don't disagree.  I'm getting awful tired of watching Bryce Young come out and play poorly.  The last half of the season, there was some kind of magic.  They couldn't find that this off season I guess.

I want my Panthers to be fun to watch, to win, and for all the players (even Young) to do well.  If Bryce doesn't succeed off to swing at more QB chances again.  Thankfully, it's not my job to fix that.  If I were in a leadership position of the team, I'd be having some very frank conversations (and possibly polishing off my resume if the season continues to suck).

On the hopium side, I hope that this was just "week 4 of the preseason."  Maybe they can get it right next week.  It's a nice fantasy until I get bludgeoned in the face by reality 😃

With the way Canales treated the offseason this game was probably closer to week 2 of preseason lol. Remember the starters going out for 6 snaps for like negative 3 yards or some horrible stat and DC was apparently satisfied with that and put in the 2nd string? Feels like that performance carried directly over into the real week 1 game

I mean the guy is the face of the franchise he could at least make an attempt to set an example for the other guys.

And our previous GM did directly address this and stated they would get Bryce on a nutrition program and get him in the gym.

I'm still a big Bryce supporter.

I don't look much at his rookie year as that only deepened the hole he has to climb out of.

I see this past game as the 1st of his 2nd year.  Judge him based off of his play after his benching.  No argument that is play those first two games last year were about as bad as it gets.  No question.

This is the start of year 2 for Canales and he was out coaches against the Jags but I like his process and how he goes about things.  I like that he, Morgan and Tillis seem like a unit and on the same path.

Saying we never should have drafted him based on his height and weight is a valid opinion but he was a universal top pick in the draft and elite talent coming out.  I have seen little evidence those are still issues.  He is physical enough to take some monster hits and I don't see a limit to his passing due to his height.

The lack of arm strength is a tired argument.  He has the physical ability to make all the necessary NFL throws.

Of course he doesn't have the cannon Cam did coming out but he also doesn't have Cams accuracy and throwing with touch issues.  They are different players and Bryce has a ton of work to do just to be in Cams shadow.

Bryce IS part of the problem but he isn't the problem.  His play the last half of the season last year was impressive and showed a ton of growth and improvement.

Outside of Horn, Nola and Chuba the whole team and staff looked severely off and not ready.

If Dave calls a great game and other players play average NFL level football and Bryce still plays like this that is when we'll actually have as big an issue at QB as the haters believe.

The issues are team wide and it's one game.

Also, I like Tepper.

Godalmighty dude, he literally cannot see the field, we call out in game threads and the damn announcers were commenting on it Sunday.  And not seeing the field makes his mechanics go to poo and he keeps doing that stupid jump pass.  I get you are still a bryce dude but good God man take the blinders off.

And saying this is his 2nd season is LOL funny
