Why is everyone focused on BY while the real problem is ignored

We are terrible enough that there is plenty of blame to go around.  There's no shortage, no need to limit it to one side of the ball.

Plenty of people were complaining about the D in various posts, too. Just it was specific players, like most of us complain specifically about BY. Wallace, Scott get plenty of blame...

Young and Legette, justifiably, get the most blame on here. I like both, but yuck.

Absolutely. It's a mix of things, and it's deserved. Which sucks because outside of their play on the field I like both. But at some point their play needs to reflect team investment. And it isn't.

The answer: If a QB is bad, it's front and center.  It's an issue to glaring to ignore and it simply mutes the other problems.  That's just the reality.

Same goes with a bad coaching situation.  (I don't think we're here yet, getting close at DC)

You know... I was going to try and focus an all-22 review thread on some of the "major" moments during the game on offense but seeing as how it feels like a lot of the more vocal fans would prefer reaffirming their feelings I'm wondering if focusing on the defense instead would provide better value.

Please. Anything but BY stuff.

This is the answer.  It doesn't matter how bad the defense is.  We can't score.  We can't win.

It puts so much pressure on the D when you can only score 10 points. You put our D with a high scoring O and they would look like a much better unit, still bad but not historically bad.

This is just wrong.  This defense was historically bad last season.  Bryce has to turn this around very fast or we will move on but saying all the losses are his fault is ludicrous.

Tell me where I said all the losses are his fault

As all I said was he is our #1 problem right now, just like it is for every single team in today’s NFL if you don’t have a long term quality solution at QB.

Seems like almost everyone here blames Young for the Panthers losses while completely ignoring the defense and its impact on their record.

Last year, they gave up 32 points a game which means they had to, on average, score 33 to win. In fact, in their last two wins, the Panthers scored 36 and 44 and they still just barely won as the defense gave up 30 and 38. Having to score 33 points to win a game is untenable long term regardless who your QB is.

I have no idea why Canales decided to bring him back but given it was his decision to bring him back, Canales fate may be more closely tied to him than Youngs.

Actually they had to average 32.1
