Bryce Young is a problem — what would you do if you were Dan Morgan?

I was more getting at the idea that a top pick isn't necessarily going to land a better QB prospect.  We can’t evaluate talent.

I agree we don't need a top pick. But at this point wherever we end up in round 1 we're just going to have to throw another dart at it. I concur wholeheartedly about our evaluation. If it were up to me every single draft scout would have already gotten their walking papers. But I think we both know who is actually pulling strings so I guess it probably doesn't matter? But all we have to do is just take a chance on a QB that actually has the physical intangibles necessary as a starting point. It's always going to be a crapshoot but that's the bare minimum we need to be looking at going forward. This trying to break the mold and draft the NFL QB equivalent of Steph Curry foolishness needs to get out of the damn building now and forever.

Pretty much all you can do at this point is play Bryce.  If he dies, he dies.  There’s no other option on the roster and it is what it is.

Dalton stinks and anyone we pull up from PS will likely be terrible.

best case scenario for fans is you just play Bryce 17 straight games and you get the clean break from him. .

the problem becomes, all the people at BOA that will start trying to position themselves to save face/jobs (survival is the NFL game).   And never benching a bad player, well, that creates an inhouse nightmare.  Which generally means you make a run through all your QBs at some point when things go bad.

Dan fugged this all up.  They moved on from Bryce last year and failed to trade/get rid of him.   That was the proper play.

the #1 Heisman winning draft pick came off the bench looking better, I see why he wasn't traded. If he was and this year the Panthers still went 5-12 it would look bad. Really no winning play for Dave

Not resign Dalton, sign a healthy jag, sit Young all year and the  trade him i  26. Easy and stated for moths here

Dave would have the excuse/logic that he hasn’t been able to bring a QB that fits his O.  That was the prior HCs QB and it got that HC fired with quickness.   Can’t expect Dave to win this year without a QB if he went 5-12.

Morgan tied Bryce to him by not dealing him.   Be horrible this year and Dave isn’t getting more time most likely

Well they can play that game all they like.  The fact is they didn’t make a single half of an attempt to bring in a halfway competent backup.  They made the bed.  Now it’s time to sleep in it.

They made this Bryce or bust and now it’s bust.

Most of us see it, Bryce Young isn’t getting it done.

Whether it’s the turnovers, the body language, or the lack of progress, it’s starting to feel like we’re watching a slow-motion bust unfold.

So here’s the challenge: you’re Dan Morgan for the week. What’s your move?

You’ve got:

  • A locker room that’s losing confidence
  • A fanbase that’s fed up
  • ~$17M in cap space
  • Draft picks
  • A QB on a rookie deal who might not be the answer

Do you ride it out and hope for a turnaround? Draft a new QB and start fresh? Bring in a vet to push Bryce? Blow it all up and rebuild?

Let’s hear your plan—cap, morale, draft strategy, long-term vision.

I wonder how many pages on the huddle has this same sentiment dedicated to Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield?

Sam darnold sucks.   Baker came into a portapotty of coaching staff and was perked around

Sam Darnold

Baker Mayfield

Justin Fields

Daniel Jones

The grasping at straws namedropping QB's who all have the necessary physical tools to compensate for other areas in an attempt to prop up a QB who does not and has poor processing is getting awkward.

Take a week one breathe.

Honestly, grather the important scouts and personnel that you can trust. Tell them no matter what Panthers will be drafting a QB this 2026 and put extra work into all the QB even the super sleepers.

Pray.

I'm amazed so many are just happy to write off the season.

We've written off 3 seasons with this clown under centre.

    • Not sure how much he was a long term piece of this team.   Sucks to not have him as part of the rotation.   Looks like it's Lee Hunter time.
    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
