i think he could be decent with a strong pass pro o line and running game.  our o line melted when they started playing normal nfl defense again and got out of prevent.  Not many qbs can succeed when they know you have to throw and cant get 2 seconds clean in the pocket.

Which is not a particularly high bar in and of itself.

Dude threw for almost 400 yards, and carried the offense on all of the second half touchdown drives. On the last one we only ran once in 13 plays and still scored. That is called "asserting your will". Typically it's in the run game, but we managed it passing.

If Canales can somehow find a way to also run the ball, the Panthers probably win that game because the final drive wouldn't have been such a cluster fug.

It amazes me that people still fall for Bryce padding stats against prevent defense. He looked like trash to start off the game because the Cardinals were running their game plan. Once up big they started focusing on containment with their rush and soft zone coverage just to avoid giving up chunk plays. Why? I don't know. NFL coaches for the most part are just super conservative and risk averse. Let's stop doing what's working spectacularly because we're scared. As soon as they were forced to abandon the prevent D and go back to playing aggressively Bryce went right back to looking like trash again immediately.

lol.

3rd quarter - The Cardinals were up 24 points and Carolina got to touch the ball once.  Here is what the Cards set up for them in the 3rd quarter to eat clock.

run

TE checkdown

TE checkdown

run

run

RB check down

TE checkdown

run

TE checkdown

incomplete

TE checkdown

run

now they finally arrive end at the 4 yard line and finally hits a WR , and he hits Renfrow in the endzone.

THAT is not asserting your will.  That's not NFL QB play.  That is the Cardinals allowing a bad team to bleed the clock and take up the entire quarter.

Box score reverse analysis. For those that watched the game it was pathetic, both teams. At least Arizona can say their starting backfield were all injured...which makes the last drive even worse for Young.

Poor football IQ from those who think Bryce "balled out".
