We won, but Bryce and Canalas still blow

I also think people are looking at the shutout and 30 point win and forgetting that it only happened because of two missed FGs and Penix gifting us some turnovers that were his fault and not something our defense caused.

So yea, we won, we had a shutout, but I'd still say those things were much more because of the Falcons own mistakes than us forcing them into those.

We gifted them one of those FGs with a dropped punt so I wouldn’t give the Falcons much credit for the first one. We also kept Penix from getting comfortable. Evero was dialing up some blitzes and it worked.

And both of those interceptions were because of super poor throws.

Yeah the WR slipped on second one but that ball never had a chance in hell. Mike Jackson was all over it

Penix looked awful. Missed a lot of routine throws

If you think we are back, we aint. Bryce Young isnt an nfl qb. One read and panics. Rico Dowdle is terrible hes worse than miles sanders. How this was 30-0 i have no idea.

Saying Dowdle is worse than Sanders instantly discredits your football knowledge. I mean wow

I remember seeing Penix struggle in the playoffs in college because he was constantly pressured and not playing a PAC12 defense. If you can keep pressure on him he becomes pretty bad.

Yeah I definitely wasn’t a fan of his as a prospect and nothing he’s done so far has me thinking he might not stink

What's the point of this? Okay they make 2 field goals and we only win by 24. Evero deserves his credit today, we made Penix uncomfortable.

They had a plan in place to beat a team that on paper is far superior and it worked. Bryce made some bad throws but he also had a lot of good ones too. He did what was needed to win. Credit where credit is due.

Top to bottom a team win. Special teams was the best I’ve seen since I don’t know when. We have a dude who can bust 57 yd field goals. Dude boomed punts in to the stratosphere.

As you said, football is a team sport and it takes a team to win.  As a team we played better than them so we got a W.  I love the defense finally showed up and meant we didn't have to have a big offensive output to win like last year. It takes pressure off Bryce which helps tremendously in reducing him trying to be superman and make a play which turns into a fumble or pick. Going to 5 defensive linemen rushing the quarterback made a big difference I thought. Saw more man coverage as well.

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
